Marc Kevin Albrighton
joined Aston Villa at the age of eight. He made his professional debut
in 2009. He totalled 9 goals in 101 professional appearances for Villa.
He spend time on loan at Wigan in 2013, playing 4 league games.
He made his debut on the opening day of the 2009-10 season at home
against Wigan. He came on as a sub and it never became a dream debut
losing the game 2-0. His first ever first team appearance was in an UEFA
Cup tie v. CSKA Moscow a few months earlier, also then coming on as a
After being released by Villa in 2014, Leicester was interested and
signed Albrighton on a free transfer. He must be described as one of the
best signings ever at Leicester, getting such a great player for free,
and contributing heavilly to the 2015-16 Premier League win, playing in
every league match of the season.
He struggled a bit at first, not getting a regular place in the team,
but during the great escape in 2014-15, he became one of the most
important players and finallly got a chance to establish himself in the
Albrighton also played a key part in Leicester reaching the quarter
finals of the Champions League in 2016-17. He became historical when he
scored the first goal ever in the Champions League for Leicester City,
in the 3-0 away win v. Brugge, August 2016.
Albrighton has represented England at U.20 and U.21 level.
