Fousseni Diabate was
signed from French club Gazelec Ajaccio in January 2018. He is not a
first team starter yet, but the young winger has showed promising skills
when getting the chance doing well especially in the FA Cup. He scored
two goals in the fourth round v. Peterborough in the 2018 tournament.
Diabate has always been regarded a great talent and was with the Rennes
academy for seven years, before moving to Stade de Reims, where he got a
chance in the reserves. He later moved to Guingamp, also there being
included in the reserves at a very young age.
The move to 2nd tier club Gazelec Ajaccio made him a first teamer, and
he has been followed and spotted by many clubs. Leicester decided to pay
the asking price, believed to have been in the region of £ 2 million,
which could be seen as a big bargain if the progress continues.
