Former foxes involved,
EFL season opening

David Nugent was among
the players involved at The Stadium Of Light when the EFL
Championship kicked off on Friday, Sunderland played Derby and the
game ended 1-1
Harry Redknapp fielded a team v. Ipswich with two
former foxes included. Michael Morrison in defence and Robbie
Stockdale in goal. Ipswich were the stronger team at Portman Road
winning the game 1-0.
Matt Mills came on in the 2nd half when Nottingham Forest defeated
Millwall at home. Forest looks strong this season and Mills will
probably play a part either from the bench or in the 1st 11.
Lloyd Dyer started the game for Burton Albion at home v. Cardiff.
Dyer left the field after 78 minutes. Lee Peltier and Sol Bamba
played for Cardiff and got the upper hand, wining the game 1-0.
Liam Moore was on the field for Reading in their 2-0 away loss to
Queens Park Rangers. Richard Stearman got a flying start to his new
life at Sheffield United, playing from start and winning at home to
Nathan Delfouneso played for Blackpool in their 2-1 away defeat to
Bradford. Jason Beckford scored the winner in Bury's 1-0 home win v.
Walsall. Cian Bolger played from start for Fleetwood in their great
2-0 v. Rotherham. Joe Mattock played for The Millers.
Not a great start for Callum Elder, getting a red card after 44
minutes in the game between Wigan and MK Dons. Nick Powell
scored the only goal of the game and secured a great away win for
Wigan. Despite the sending off, it all ended with three points.
Louis Dodds was named on the bench for Shrewsbury, but never entered
the field, in the 1-0 home win against Northampton. James Pearson
was on the bench for Coventry in their great 3-0 home win v. Notts
County, but stayed unused.
Alan Sheehan played from start in a historical start to the season
for Luton Town. The Hatters had fun at Kenilworth Road winning 8-2
v. Yeovil, with the away side taking the lead after 7 minutes.
Later today former City manager Claudio Ranieri starts his season
with Nantes. Nantes lost their last pre-season game, but we will see
tomorrow how things will start. Lille is the opponent and Nantes,
like Leicester, starts their season away.
