are "fuchs given" to Super Shinji ?
DATE: 21.10.2017 - THE CUNNING FOX - NEWSDESK
We were extremely
unhappy with the departure of N'Golo Kantè, but most of us really
takes Shinji Okazaki for granted, something we fans and Leicester
City management should stop doing
If you look at the games Shinji Okazaki has
played for City,
the stats are really worth reading. He has played 73 league
games and scored 12 goals. For Japan he has 50 goals in 103
This season his goal scoring ratio is 50 %. He has 4 goals in 8
Premier League apperances. In the EFL Cup he scored one against
Liverpool coming on as a sub changing the game.
In the PL winning season, everyone was saying that Okazaki didn't
score enough and as we all experienced, Ranieri agreed. City never
looked for a cover to Okazaki but instead neglected his work and
decided to sign a player totally different to replace him up front.
Islam Slimani was the player brought in to partner Vardy. "Fuchs
given" to Okazaki by Ranieri and really telling him that you are not
the player we would like to partner Vardy, despite bringing the "miracle
oil" to the team during that massive PL winning season.
Ranieri made the mistake to drop Okazaki from games and it was a
costly learning lesson for the Italian who TCF believe lost his job
gambling with another partnership up front losing the special
effects and movements in the Vardy / Okazaki partnership.
When Shakespeare took over, he introduced the partnership again for
his first full game in charge. The "miracle oil" was back and Vardy
shined, Liverpool were defeated at King Power.
The next games followed with great wins and a certain Okazaki in the
line up from start.
Craig Shakespeare became, as Ranieri, bigger than his tactis and
again regarding Okazaki as less important to his team by signing
Kelechi Iheanacho. A team with Okazaki and a team without are two
very different teams.
So why two great "football brains" both starts to gamble with this
is strange and not really easy to understand. Michael Appleton comes
in and makes one change from last game v. West Bromwich and he gets
immediate responce from "the enigma".
The Okazaki role is one not easy to copy and no player at Leicester
City can give Jamie Vardy the space and movement that Okazaki are
serving, so please play the Japanese for the rest of the season from
start, so that we can get the best out of the team and especially
A player that scored in 50 % of his games and gives his partner a
chance to score 20 + goals should be honoured and please stop the "fuchs
given". Today Appleton made a new "fuchs given" substituting Okazaki,
instead of letting him get 90 minutes to get even stronger.
Appleton should be honoured for his tactics today, but again why is
Okazaki the man to be taken off, but great credit to "the caretaker"
for bringing Okazaki back, that was vital in a well earned win away
To drop Okazaki is a huge risk when the team never adjust and play
their game as if he was in there. Players such as Iheanacho, Slimani
and Ulloa are types that needs the service Okazaki delivers, so why
replace a scissor with a spoon, not really working, is it ?
