Late update on the Leicester City manager situation, a new favourite
in the race for the vacancy

Claude Puel is a front
runner at the moment, and has allready been interviewed by the club.
He is available and has a cv that should be the one that would fit
the bill of getting this club into better shape
Michael Appleton could be leaving the job as
caretaker boss unbeaten with Puel ready to step in for Sunday's game
v. Everton. It could also be that Puel will sit in the stands and
let the job be done from the touch line by Appleton to continue a
good run of results.
Appleton looks certain to stay on as assistent and Mike Stowell and
Adam Sadler could also be in the team going forward. Puel was sacked
by Southampton, finishing eight in the Premier League and runners-up
in the EFL Cup.
Why Puel had to step down, few understood, but the way Southampton
have sold players and cashed in, might have been a reason and
unsettling situations regarding recruitment. If or rather when Puel
is appointed, this should be a good decission.
Puel had a great career as a player with Monaco, in fact his only
club. Playing 488 league games during 17 seasons. He was a good
servant at the club from 1979 to 1996. He won the french league, the
french cup, and also played in a final of the UEFA Cup winners cup.
Three years later, in 1999, he became the manager of Monaco. Winning
the french league in 1999-00. Since then he has been the manager of
Lille, Lyon, Nice and Southampton.
The 56 year old Puel should be perfect. Looking at Leicester, with
previous experiences he is a candidate that can move Leicester in
the right direction. To get Puel is a gain for the club and he will
steady the ship and get the best out of the Leicester team.
City will with Puel appoint a manager that are thicking all the
boxes. He is not one that has done it all, he is certainly not a man
taking the club backwards and he has a mind set and approach to
football that will be interesting to follow.
To see Puel being heavilly linked with the vacancy was good, to see
him closing in on the job is even better. To put him on
top of our list two to three days ago is also
something we did with the fact that many sites had mentioned his
