Foxes in the World Cup, who are on the way to Russia

DATE: 16.11.2017 - THE CUNNING FOX - NEWSDESK

Kasper Schmeichel and Denmark parked Ireland totally and qualified in style for the World Cup. Schmeichel  was the last of a number of Leicester City players to be part of a national team going through

England booked their World Cup ticket early and had two friendlies played this week, with Harry Maguire and Jamie Vardy both taking part. The friendly games at Wembley against Brazil and Germany ended 0-0.

Magurie and Vardy were in the starting line up in both games. Among other City players in contention, Demarai Gray could be in the squad if he starts to perform regularly as he did against Everton, then Southgate most certainly will consider the U.21 international.

Shinji Okazaki looks certain to make the trip to Russia, being involved in all games for Japan and with his reputation and experience, he will not be overlooked.

Nigeria is qualfied and all three from the City squad, Ahmed Musa, Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho looks certain to be included, despite only Ndidi as a regular starter for Leicester.

Adrien Silva will when he gets the green light to play for Leicester, be a contender for a place in the Portugal squad.

Switzerland are through but it looks unlikely that Eldin Jakupovic will be included. Benalouane and Mendy who both represents France are certain not to be included.

Bartoz Kapustka could be included in the Polish squad. He played in the 2016 Euro's. Kapustka is on loan at Freiburg but has not played much for the German team, and without any first team games he will be in the shadows, and probably not making the trip to Russia.

Ulloa will not be in the Argentina squad, that is ceratain, and players such as Islam Slimani and Riyad Mahrez will also miss out, since Algeria never managed to qualify.

We wish all of those travelling a great World Cup and hopefully they will all come back with great memories.

Muzzy Izzet and Gordon Banks both experienced the thrill, as Leicester City players, to win medals at the World Cup. Banks winner with England in 1966, Izzet third place with Turkey in 2002.
