Foxes from present and past secures moves in the January transfer window

DATE: 30.01.2017 - THE CUNNING FOX - BLOG

Claude Puel shakes up his squad as Ahmed Musa and Leo Ulloa both departs King Power on loans, other could also follow, with a number of former foxes also in the list of confirmed moves

Leo Ulloa will be playing for his former club Brighton until the end of the season. A real possibillity to get more games and be part of first team action. Ulloa (31) will most certainly be seaking a permanent move away from the club in the summer.

Ahmed Musa is another fox returning to his former club, and has agreed on a loan back to CSKA Moscow. Another player who has fallen totally out of the picture at King Power and looks out of the future plans of Puel.

Andy King could be leaving as well, with Middlesbrough, Brighton and Sunderland all mentioned as possible destinations for the long servant, who is in a difficult competition with other players for the central midfield positions.

Kelechi Iheanacho is linked with Newcastle, but few believe he will leave. Islam Slimani could be leaving, and a number of options has been mentioned. Newcastle, Everton, Chelsea, Sporting and Watford are all linked with the Algerian international.

Recent rumours about Riyad Mahrez and his desire to move, will probably not come as a shock for anyone, but it looks strange if Puel lets the player leave in this window, but again if Man City is ready to splash the cash and reach a bid of around 80 million, who knows.

Other former foxes has also been on the move. George Taft, who left City back in 2014, is now extending his loan from Mansfield to Cambridge and the former England U.19 international hopefully will add to his 10 appearances so far at The Abbey Stadium.

Franck Moussa has agreed to a deal with Gillingham, after being out of football since his release from Walsall in the summer. The Belgian played 8 league games for City from 2010 to 2012, after that he has been a bit around at a number of places. Still only 28 years of age.

Former City youth prospect, Curtis Thompson has made a new loan move from his club Notts County. The 24 year old midfielder will play for Wycombe Wanderers for the rest of the season.

Linked winger Jack Harrison will not join Leicester City, and has agreed to a move to Manchester City and a straight loan to Middlesbrough. At the moment it looks a bit silent on the "coming in" front, and it might be that nothing happens.

The only signing so far is Fousseni Diabate, who made his debut in the FA Cup v. Peterborough. He scored a great goal and is just the type of signing we believe is right for City, not splashing out cash, but picking the right talent at a good price from a smaller club.

Robert Huth and Matty James are both back to full fitness, so is Danny Simpson. Adrien Silva is also a "new man" that adds quality to the squad, and it could really be looked up on as "new signings", but we just have to wait and see if Puel will do more business before the window close tomorrow.
