Leicester 1 - Sheff Utd 0, positives and negatives, player ratings and match report

Leicester are still living the dream of reaching a FA Cup final, with the quarter finals now secured after a controlled win v. Sheffield United at home this afternoon

Not that many chances in the first half, fielding a team that had few surprises with Wes Morgan back and playing his first game since new years day. Good to see the captain back in the team and playing well together with Harry Maguire.

Maguire up against his former club for the second time this season, winning the EFL cup clash away at Bramall Lane earlier in the season. Chris Wilder also fielded a team, not using his top forwards, one absent and another placed on the bench, Billy Sharp.

Leicester are more and more possession orientated and keeps the ball more in the team and that shows up in the stats, with 63 % of the ball being in the "feets" of Leicester players.

There were no goals after the first half and Wilder's men showed their strength and abillity to fight, but both Mahrez and Vardy were a treath all the time against a Sheffield United defence that kept themselves low in the field, not to give space to a pacy Vardy.

With Iheanacho also in the team, they pace would be problematic for any defender trying to deal with that. Demarai Gray was also on the field and his abillity and strength is also pace. Mahrez showed his qualities and was again showing his best side.

The second half started again with Iborra and Ndidi running things from the central, and in the end that will give Mahrez a cance to shine, which he did when he found Jamie Vardy who showed great skill with a well placed header going in bow over the Sheffield United goalkeeper.

Leicester and Vardy scored a 2nd goal but correctly the goal was disallowed when Mahrez who again had the assist had his arm in offside, but again a lovely goal and a fine header from "the wizzard" down to Vardy who just put the ball to rest in the net.

Strangely Puel decides to take off first Vardy and then Manrez, and taking away every fear factor in the City team, those two, together with Harry Maguire and Kasper Schmeichel who made a vital save in the 2nd half to keep City in the lead are outstanding today.

Ndidi and Iborra both are also having a great game. Chilwell is lively going forward, but defensively he is a bit shaky and does a number of disturbing decissions that could have cost City, but this all went as well at it could, winning 1-0 and reaching the quarter finals.

Vardy again scoring a vital goal, the winner
Morgan and Mahrez back in the team
Iheanacho getting a game, but not showing too much
Leicester with 63 % possession shows full domination
Mahrez showing that he is 100 % committed in his job to get great results for Leicester City
Great to win again after three games without a win in the Premier League
No cards, no injuries

Puel taking off Mahrez and Vardy, no need to take those two off, strange way to show how much they are worth for the team
A bit shaky in defence at times, letting Sheffield United into the game which could have been brutal
