Sorry to say, but it's
time for Puel to sit down and have a talk with himself, look at what
he is doing and get this team back on track, he was lucky today and
again saved by a wizard of a footballer
City were the dominating team from the first
kick, but Bournemouth does have players that can turn a game with
one single chance, and their attitude is fantastic, today the former
Chelsea duo Begovic and Ake both played a fantastic game, especially
Hopefully Puel did look at the opponent and recognised the defender
that City surely should put on their wish list for next season. But
he will probably be on the list of a number of contenders, great
central defender, and together with Maguire, just a wish.
Marc Albrighton made a fatal decission to try to tackle Joshua King,
and instead of winning the ball, Albrighton just hit King and it was
a clear penalty, surely not the best we have seen from Albrighton,
but in all he played a good game and worked hard to repair the
King converted the penalty and City were one goal behind. The first
half faded out without City really being able to put too much
pressure on Bournemouth, but it was City who run the affair.
Second half was a game totally dominated by Leicester, and a number
great oppertuinities were spoiled, with Wes Morgan probably being
the one closest to a goal, but his header was not well placed and
everyhting became very frustrating.
Okazaki and Simpson both missed the game, and according to reports
Simpson was just left out of the game totally, not even worth a
place on the bench, surely that cannot be the reason, he must have
been out with a late injury or some type of sickness.
Daniel Amartey who replaced Simpson at right back had a short lived
game, going off with an injury after just 20 minutes, replaced by
Ben Chilwell. The system was from start a sort of 4-3-3, then
changed to 3-4-3, without the right balance.
City pushed hard for a goal and with a possession of 54 % they surely
made the most out of the game as the stats will tell. Not that they
tried but players spoiled a number of chances in front of goal and
Bournemouth more or less parked the buss and played to the limit.
Then in stoppage time, City got a free kick, 25 m from goal and
Riyad Mahrez steps up to take it. His kick is perfectly placed,
curled around the Bournemouth wall, on the floor, and Begovic cannot
reach out, so close to the left post, what a fantastic goal from a
wizard of football.
