February due to a heart condition that made it difficult to continue
According to Swedish website
Fotbollskanalen, Johansson never really looked forward to the

Johansson left Leicester in 2007 and has for the last eleven years
played for AIK Stockholm. He played a total of 297 league games in
which he scored 16 goals. "Nisse" turned
38 years of age in January and the career was one to look back on
with great pride.
He joined Leicester from Blackburn and before his time in England he
enjoyed spells with Bayern Munich and Nurenberg. He moved to the
Bundesliga in his teens and made his full international debut for
Sweden at the age of 22, but the number of caps stopped on three.
Before joining Leicester he had a good spell at Ewood Park, being in
the 2002 EFL Cup winning line-up. He also picked up a number of
different cup and league medals while at Bayern Munich and a
Bundesliga 2 winners medal with Nurenberg.
His move back to AIK was probably not a step down, looking at his
trophy cabinet. Winning the Swedish League and Cup in 2009, and the
Supercup in 2010.
Nils Eric Johansson has been loyal to AIK and will be seen as a
great player in history of the club.

stay on at the club in another role, that would probably be
something to consider.
Nils Eric Johansson is one of a few former Swedish players to have
played for Leicester City. Other's are
Pontus Kamark and
Patrik Gerrbrand, Gerrbrand played together with Johansson
during his time at the club.
Pontus Kamark will forever be the player of the three to get the
best grade after his fantastic man marking of Juninho in the 1997
League Cup final, but Nils Erik Johansson is the one with most
league appearances for Leicester, playing 75, while Kamark stopped
Johansson could operate at a full back position and in the centre of
defence and was looked up on as a hard battling, honest defender
with a great tackle and also a good header of the ball. His only
league goal for Leicester was socred in a 1-0 away win v. Preston in
