New arrivals and a number of departures, Leicester City transfer update

DATE: 24.07.2018 - THE CUNNING FOX - BLOG

Brighton and Leicester are in the race for Alireza Jahanbakhsh, Puel is also closing in on Jordan Ayew, Danny Ings is also reported to be a possible target. Harvey Barnes has gone on a season long loan to West Bromwich

Claude Puel is ready to make the changes needed to keep Leicester City on track and improve last seasons 9th place. The list of targets are a long one, and so far four new players are in.

Maddison, Evans, Pereira and Ward are the four new players, signed for a price of around 55 million. A great amount of money paid for players that looks like challengers rather than certain first teamers.

Tcf is a great believer in the way Ranieri, O'Neill and Bloomfield picked their targets. Nigel Pearson also did a great job in his time at Leicester City, not splashing out money on players you rate as just challengers.

Alireza Jahanbakhsh, Jordan Ayew and Danny Ings are three names linked with Leicester City. Surprised to see Harvey Barnes, loaned out. Barnes is a typcial challenger, and one of our own, why send him out to West Bromwich Albion and sign other players, don't know.

Reports are that Musa, Ulloa and Slimani are all on the way out, but so far no one has confirmed anything, despite a long list of teams linked with the trio. Leicester City is not willing to let them leave for peanuts.

The latest name to be linked with Leicester City is Croatian World Cup hero,
Marco Pjaca. Everton are also reported to be in the race for Pjaca.

There are a few interesting weeks left before the transfer window is closed. We all need to see a balance in the Leicester City squad and hopefully a settled team will be ready for the opening v. Manchester United.

The problem at the moment is that Puel has a number of players just simular in standard and still far away from a top six challenge. Hopefully I am wrong, but using too much money on reserves are not the way forward.

Over the last couple of seasons, too many players, without the right potential has been signed, just to leave them in the terraces or loaning them out to other clubs.
