Man Utd - Leicester, pre-match talk, fans view, injuries and squad update

DATE: 10.08.2018 / TCF - FILBERTWAY

Leicester will play their Premier League season opener away to Manchester United today Friday 10 August. Tcf have spoken to three devoted Leicester City fans and they are given their full view

The big question in front of the game was the one regarding Harry Maguire and his supposed move to the opponent, and wrightly Claude Puel confirmed that he would be going to Manchester, but only for two hours this Friday afternoon, playing for Leicester City.

Two new players arrived just before the transfer window closed yesterday. Filip Benkovic and Caglar Soyuncu are the new faces. Two highly talented defenders coming in from Dynamo Zagreb and Freiburg.

Delighted to see that Jamie Vardy has agreed to sign a new four year deal, keeping him at the club until the age of 35. Darnell Johnson also signed a new deal, great news also. Leo Ulloa and Josh Gordon both left on permanent deals.

Everything under Claude Puel has so far looked a bit unfinished, but you can see that the style of play during pre-season is one giving promising of a team that would like to attack and go forward, so we just have to wait and see.

James Maddison, Rachid Ghezzal, Jonny Evans, Danny Ward and Ricardo Pereira are other new faces, Pereira expected to start, with also Maddison and Ghezzal possible starters. Ward will probably take a place on the bench, with Evans out injured and not ready yet.

The injury list of Manchester United is one long and giving Jose Mourinho selection problems. The only new face to have arrived at Old Trafford is Brazilian forward Fred, and he is expected to be involved.

Swedish View (SF)

Danish View (FRP)

What will be Leicester City's possible best postion this season

7th, believe it will be difficult to get into top 6

7th, best of the rest

What could be the worst

15, no need to think about a possible relegation battle

14th or 15th, not worried about any relegation battle

What will be your preferred Leicester City line-up

3-5-2, Schmeichel - Evans, Maguire, Soyuncu - Pereira, Silva, Ndidi, Gray, Maddison - Vardy, Iheanacho

4-4-2, Schmeichel - Pereira, Evans, Maguire, Fuchs - Ndidi, Albrighton, Silva, Maddision - Iheanacho, Vardy

4-2-3-1, Schmeichel - Pereira, Evans, Maguire, Chilwell - Iborra, Ndidi - Albrighton, Maddison, Gray - Vardy

What are your thoughts about the new signings

Excting additions, a bit of experience, young and fresh faces, excited about Maddison and Soyuncu

No big signing, but promising moves for different type of players. Excited about Evans, and of course Maddison

Good moves by Puel, and hopefully a number of more will come. Great to see a new right back alternative in Pereira

How will Puel manage to get the best out of both Vardy and Ihenacho

A bit of rotation, and probably play both, but difficult combination

Iheanacho and Vardy is a riddle as a partnership, hope Puel will be able to play them both

Difficult, don't believe they ever will be a good partnership

Do you think Claude Puel will be the manager at the end of the season

Yes, if we get a good start

What games will you fly out to and attend live

So far I have decided to fly over for the Wolves and Everton game at home

Four games are booked, Liverpool, Crystal Palace, Brighton and Newcastle, all games at home

Trying to find one home game in the new year, hopefully with the Scandinavian Supporters

What do you believe are the biggest strengths of Leicester City

A young group of players coming through, great cameradery among players

Team spirit

Team spirit, we can turn games around and fight back after being behind

And what could be the weakest link

Too many changes too fast, a bit of a generation change at the moment

Losing good players whenever they take the next step. Mahrez, Drinkwater, Kante, difficult to find new players when they left

How do you rate the new Adidas kit, and what are the previous best and worst kits

Too simular to Chelsea, should have been white shorts. Did like the Admrial kit from the 70's, didn't like the green one from the 80's.

The new kit is ok, standard, but nothing extra. The best is of course the blue one from the great PL win season. Didn't like Topps Tiles

I love Puma, so sad when they were changed with Adidas, but again not bad at all with Adidas. All kits with Walkers Crisps were special. Jako and Topps Tiles were not my favourites.
