Denis Praet is a name that has circulated lately as a possible new signing for Leicester City, reported to double his salary if he decides to join. Sampdoria might be eager to cash in, but Praet will not join a club where he is far from the first team.
Hoffenheim midfielder Nadiem Amiri is another that is linked and a possible new addition. The German U.21 international will be a strong addition if he signs, but today this looks a bit away, and Praet might be a hotter option.
Shinji Okazaki looks as if he will join Malaga and try his luck in Spain. Shinji still has a lot to offer and hopefully be a good addition for the Spaniards.
By the way Leicester City lined up against Cambridge, we would judge everything out from a perspective that Harry Maguire will stay with Leicester City and that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doesn’t have the formula ready to get Maguire on the hook.
Papy Mendy also played from start against Cambridge, but still is linked with a move away, with both St. Etienne and Galatasaray mentioned as new destinations. Adrien Silva is at the moment back at Leicester City and also made an appearance yesterday.
Everything looks a bit up in the air at the moment as pre-season progress and Brendan Rodgers looks to have everything under full control, despite minor knocks for both Ben Chilwell and Jonny Evans. Ayoze Perez is also out with an injury, but hopefully will be back in action soon.
The introduction of the young battalion yesterday, including Barnes, Gray, Maddison and Chilwell, who all made their first appearance in pre-season, were good to see, they all showed great quality.
One player still absent is Filip Benkovic who has yet to play in pre-season, and we will hopefully see him in the next games coming up. A double fixture is on next, playing Rotherham United and Stoke City on Saturday.
The Harry Maguire saga isn’t easy to understand, but it looks like this. Harry Maguire would look at a move to Man Utd as a step up, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eager to sign the player, but reluctant to pay £80million, which looks as the asking price. Leicester City will sell Maguire for that fee, but so far no bids are in.
Why Brendan Rodgers is using Harry Maguire as captain, plays him as he does against Cambridge and really getting this pre-season to look very promising and the way this team is heading you would start to wonder why Leicester City will try to destroy themselves by allowing Maguire to go, this looks like crazy talk.
Harry Maguire has emerged to be seen as one of the best defenders on the planet earth, and Leicester City is considering selling him, because a club is willing to pay £80milliion, money Brendan Rodgers says Leicester City don’t need. This is not easy to understand.
This season could be the one settling Leicester City as a top team in England, being able to compete with the best, why on earth should they sell their best player, with a squad of almost 40 players competing for a place, and Rodgers saying he has the players needed to cover for Maguire, please stop this nonsense and prepare and get ready with Maguire as captain and leading this Leicester City side, going forward.
TCF is not 100% satisfied with the answers given, since it all is a bit cryptic and really not to understand. Harry Maguire is a brilliant player, hopefully all this “fog” can be settled once and for all, just talk to each other and decide, respect the fans of this club and not talk us totally out on the sideline, losing patience and getting annoyed by all this ongoing talk that will not stop.
We had the same turns with Jamie Vardy, Kasper Schmeichel, Riyad Mahrez, N’Golo Kantè, Esteban Cambiasso and Danny Drinkwater, unsettling and destroying for a fanbase that could grow to a totally new level with none of this happening. A goal must be to grow a fanbase and not just sell the best players when they are ready to jump to a bigger club, then you are lost and just staying were you are.
We all remember the talk about Vardy in 2016 when it all looked as if Arsenal were to sign him, but as we have seen in the past, nothing happened. The Everton link was also “destroying” and with Kasper Schmeichel you had Chelsea and Man Utd both chasing. Where did that Atletico Madrid move for Ben Chilwell come from, who are “constructing” all this maniac talk.
