The game was in a way a tribute to Vichai who died a year ago this month, and of course the honoring of the chairman before and after the match gives you a view on how passionate Leicester City are about him. Brendan Rodgers probably also wanted to get of with a blistering start with a very offensive line up fielding Ayoze Perez, Harvey Barnes and James Maddison behind Jamie Vardy.
It was obvious that Brendan Rodgers had a clear desire to get all points as quickly as possible in the bank, but it turned out totally. different. Despite having a lot of ball possession in the first half it was some half chances for Leicester City that counted, before Burnley, against all odds, took the lead.
Former fox Chris Wood scored the goal for Burnley, but when everyone thought it would be a lead to Burnley after the first half, Harvey Barnes found Jamie Vardy inside the penalty box and Jamie’s header was one og the finest ever seen at King Power, what a goal. Jamie also had a chance a few minutes before but his shot, coming clear, went wide.
Leicester city came out in the 2nd half being the better team by far, but in a strange sort of way, Burnley fought of the pressure. But Leicester City’s pressure finally gave results with a great finish from Youri Tielemans and suddenly Leicester City were in the lead, had fought back and looked like the winners.
Strangely Brendan Rodgers made a number of changes and especially to change the defensive structure was a risk that could have cost points, with VAR saving the day. Chris Wood scored but the goal was disallowed after first been given.
Burnley tried their best in the end, but it was Leicester City on a difficult day, that picked up all three points, that was good to see.
