Five subs, an exciting final of PL fixtures and of course the FA Cup

Leicester City’s end of 2019/20 season restart is close, and we will of course follow up on all those games and happenings as they come along. The fact that clubs can use as many as five subs is a new and good change that will make it easy to roll the squad as games come thick and fast.

As we all know the squad looks prepared and ready to go. A few venues against other clubs have taken place, and hopefully we will again see the sunny sides of life.

The start and opening PL game will be played against Watford away on the 20th of June. Then Leicester City will be up against Brighton & Hove Albion at home the following Tuesday.

Games will then roll on until the final clash of the season against Manchester United late in July, to be precisely on Sunday the 26th of July, so hopefully everything will go smoothly and as in Bundesliga possible to get the season finalized by that date.

We should of course not forget the FA Cup, with the clash against Chelsea in the quarter finals will take place on Sunday the 28th of June. If that hurdle is passed the semi’s will be played 18th of July and the final will take place on the 1st of August.

Leicester City predicted to shrink squad including one or maybe two major sales to take place

Looking at the financial situation at the club and with the Corona situation still arguably serious and difficult, it looks certain that a mass clear out will happen. Ben Chilwell, Ricardo Pereira and Caglar Suyuncu are all linked with big money moves away and it could be that one maybe two of these three will leave.

Ben Chilwell is heavily linked with a move to Chelsea, but also Manchester City has been talked about as a possible new destination. Ricardo Pereira has earlier been linked with Barcelona and Juventus and if that move goes through it will be for a huge fee.

Caglar Soyunuce is on Liverpool’s radar and he is a player that still has his best years in front of him and with Leicester City currently linked with a number of defenders, Soyuncu could be seen as a potential sales object.

The club needs to invest in the future and if they shall do that, money are not as TCF believe available without one or maybe two massive sales and of course freeing up a heavy wage bill and selling out a number of fringe players will certainly happen.

The list is long and TCF beleive that Adrien Silva, Islam Slimani, Andy King, Eldin Jakupovic, Daniel Amartey, Demarai Gray, Matty James, Josh Knight, Filip Benkovic, Fousseni Diabate, Rachid Ghezzal, Nampalys Mendy, Bartosz Kapustka and Daniel Iversen all are potential players to find new clubs and destinations. A group of players in the U.23 and Academy set up will also be freed, to find space for new talents to grow.

One or maybe two regular first teamers also looks certain to follow the group above out of the club to get a fresh £250million in to the till, maybe more money will be drawn in if all the players above are to be sold and freed.

James Maddison and Wilfred Ndidi are also players that are in demand, but we will be very surprised if any of the two leaves as they are seen as more influencial and difficult to replace than defenders at this time.

Leicester City are also heavily linked with players and we are still hopeful that Real Betis midfielder William Carvalho will join and there will also be a place for a new young central defender in Joe Rodon or maybe a more experienced one in Southampton’s Jannik Vestergaard.

There are also a few left back alternatives to circle in the sand, with Ryan Bertrand (Southampton) and Kiernan Tierney (Arsenal) the most mentioned. Ajax alternative Nicolas Tagliafico is also often seen in the rumour talk.

The name Adam Lallana is also at the moment in the headlines as a favorite to join Leicester City from Liverpool which looks as a possible move to happen as long as the list of midfielders at the club are to be slimmed down to free up space.

Wes Morgan and Christian Fuchs are both believed to be staying with a new one year extension and with James Justin also as an alternative in the back together with Jonny Evans and maybe one new face, this area should be well covered.
