Still deals to be done, Berardi, Mikkel or … , who will fill the flanks?

So far it’s been an exciting run of transfers for Leicester City, but there are still business to be done, as a player is needed to fill the flank position, and to find such an alternative will of course be a difficult one, but also exciting to see who will be that player that could be the servant for those top forwards.

Recent rumours linking Marc Albrighton to Burnley and the exit of Cengiz Under do see that position limited to one real good alternative, Harvey Barnes. Barnes had to see the end of last season from the treatment table as his injury happened and probably also a struggle to get fully fit for the opener of the season.

Leicester will again go to Wembley to play in the Community Shield and this time against Man City, a game hardly talked about yet, but the event will take place on the 7th of August, and a chance to look at our new signings in their first competitive game, also looking forward to the season opener v. Wolverhampton.

To be in full fire for those games Brendan Rodgers still have a few gaps to fill and a number of flank midfielders or wingers if you like are on the radar. Danish international Mikkel Damsgaard has been linked. The Sampdoria star showed what he can do with his perfect free kick v. England yesterday.

Another player that is high on the list is Sassulo’s Dominco Berardi is a player that has been seen as a potential player, but few believe it will happen, and one player that has been drawn up as a hot alternative is Phillipe Coutinho, and the Barca star would be a coupe, injury free it would be a sensation and really put Leicester City on the map.

Barca are in the middle of a bit of a cleaning session and interested to off load players to be able to cope with wages and new major transfers for new prospects. So don’t be surprised if Coutinho turns up in a Leicester City shirt, with Europe and PL games in the sack, he would probably see it as a possible push up to get his career back on track.

There are of course a number of other players also seen as alternative and we just have to follow up on all those names mentioned. A player that could also be one to watch as a possible alternative is Matheus Pereira and he is a very interesting player. 19 goals in 75 league games for West Bromwich makes him a solution if others fall out.
