Looking back in the mirror can sometimes be useful when searching for patterns regarding transfers as they almost appear in the same manner, season after season.

Last season we had to wait until August the 26th before the move of Ben Chilwell was officially confirmed with rumours flying from the start of May. This is the same buzz as we have seen now with James Maddison and the flirt is ongoing and we all know the financial situation at Leicester.
Last summer Timothy Castagne and Wesley Fofana both joined and Cenghiz Under came in on loan, all of them later than expected due to the fact that the season went on far into the summer due to the Covid-19 situation.
This just added up in numbers and the fee that was received for Chilwell covered the cost of the two Castagne and Fofana, and also a bit more to keep the balance.

This summer rumours about Youri Tielemans and James Maddison are seen with the latter probably seen as a possible cover for the cost of the two players that so far has arrived for heavy transfer fees Boubakary Soumare and Patson Daka.
We do feel that Leicester, looking at the current balance and how the club financially will be able to go into next season without grand and heavy losses, one player must be off loaded and it’s likely that it is James Maddison.
Ayoze Perez is also linked away from the club, and if he moves out, then it will be options to get one more player in, if not, we will not see a new addition, but Brendan Rodgers keeps his cards close to his chest.

If James Maddison is to stay then we will see Ayoze Perez leave, but again Everton will probably not pay more than £25million for his services and then the fee will not cover the cost of Daka and Soumare.
Previous years we have seen a big money move happening since N’Golo Kante left for Chelsea, Danny Drinkwater was next, then Riyad Mahrez joined Man City and the stone has rolled season after season to cover the cost of the club and it’s current runnings.
