Home grown debut, a player in from the crowd, good to see it happen as we all waited for that day

Obviously not his first game in the first team, but Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall did get his debut in the Premier League against Norwich. He has been out on loan at Blackpool and Luton and done well, coming back a more mature player and finally at the age of 21 getting his full senior league debut.

The Shepshed born midfielder is a player that joined the club at eight years of age and for many years been good for the U.23’s and lately seen great progress during his time out on loan. He was close to staying last season, but probably did best by going out, and being a midfielder with so much competition, it will be interesting to watch his progress this season.

He is a bit different from the rest of midfield players and have a good eye for a pass, can score goals and also have more pace than a usual midfielder, which makes him tricky to mark and predict for an opponent. This is a good option to have in the tool box for Brendan Rodgers depending on which game he is suited for.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall made his debut in the first team in an FA Cup tie v. Brentford back in January 2020, and has been involved in much pre-seasons and played a number of friendlies, he has also played in the EFL Cup so this was his third official game for the club, but the first in Premier League action.

Luke Thomas is another young player that has come through lately and great to see Dewsbury-Hall following him, both are local and that counts a lot as the football club need to be in the area and spot talent as they also did in the early days, but in some way not always been clever in that department.

From those early days we did see local talent grow. Graham Cross and Alan Woollett were both in the line-up for that 1969 FA Cup final, so was Peter Shilton, all of them home grown and from Leicestershire. Malcolm Munro from Melton Mowbray and Andy Peake from Market Harborough did follow during the years after, not to forget Gary Lineker.

Always grand to see those young players from the local area coming through and beeing from the county that makes it very special and the bonding between these players and the fans gives everyone something extra. We do also have to mention Stefan and Scott Oakes, two local born brothers, both playing for the club, and also Russell Hoult born in Ashby de la Zouch also in this county.

We could of course go on and mention a few more such as Emile Heskey, Dion Dublin, Jeff Blockley and Matt Piper. Not to forget Tommy Wright and Jon Stevenson together with Matt Heath who all came up through the youth system and played Premier League football at the club, mostly on the fringe but again local born players.

Others that came after was Levi Porter and Joe Mattock who both were locals and playing a number of games before moving on or being sold.

We love it when it happens and it’s great for the club, the player, fans and everyone involved when such a debut is made as they are always very special. Kiernan had a good debut as well and could have scored or at least been given an assist if Kelechi Iheanacho had scored, but luckily in the end it had nothing to say for the final result and coming home with three points, that makes such a debut even better.

Leicester transfer deals imminent, Chelsea signing unlikely, departures announced and close to happen

The move for Ademola Lookman looks settled as latest reports suggests that the player is eager to join and get his career back on track. Lookman had a positve loan season with Fulham and among those lifting the roof at Craven Cottage at times to give fans a hope for survival.

He has also shown his talent over a number of years with Everton and Charlton previously and will of course give Brendan Rodgers more depth and better selection options going into a great number of competitions this season including the Europa League games which of course is thrilling for Ademola Lookman.

Dennis Praet will certainly be leaving with Torino close to complete the move firstly agreed as a loan but we cannot see why it will not become a permanent deal, with the Serie A being a place Praet previously have shown his skills and cleverness.

Hamza Choudhury is said to be close to a move to Newcastle, a link that has been there for a long time and ever since January. Steve Bruce is a keen admirer and on his best days Hamza is a good player with a Premier League spirit. There are still not any certainty in this rumour, and it’s been a bit on and off as the days have gone by, we just have to wait until the very end if this can be settled or not.

To see Chelsea accept a bid from Leicester on Hudson-Odoi would be a mega surprise with Borussia Dortmund hopeful of landing the England international, with a deal close, but it is a difficult one as Thomas Tuchel is eager to keep his talented winger, so Hudson-Odoi could be staying at Stamford Bridge.

Young midfielder Sidnei Tavares who has yet to agree on a new deal at Leicester and at this moment is out of contract and has been chased by a number of clubs, with Parma of Serie B said to be the leaders of the pack.

Shocking news as Leicester and Chelsea consider move, defender arrives at Reading, the latest transfer twist and turns

Leicester will do business and with Ademola Lookman being a close and hot target a new name appear in the rumour mill. A bid is said to be tabled at Stamford Bridge for their attacking winger option Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Hudson-Odoi has not appeared for Chelsea in the openers of the season and of course would like to be more involved but with the interest from Borussia Dortmund also said to be present this looks like an option that would suit the player and club better than to let him leave and join a rival in Premier League.

Of course a player that could be a good option for Leicester but again would not be a certain starter in every game, it will be exciting to see who will come in and give the squad the depth needed as the injury list is longer than we would have hoped for.

Scott Dann has joined Reading in Championship. Leicester were said to have an interest but the former Blackburn and Crystal Palace defender will now see his future with The Royals.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has been talking to Sky Sports about the possible move for Dennis Praet and sees it all as a loan with a chance to buy at the end of the season, so that might not really create much cash to use on a new face, though Leicester might have the options needed to bring in yet another big fish.

There could also be a possible move out for Hamza Choudhury with Newcastle the club mentioned as his next possible destination. Hamza has earlier been linked with a move to The Toon as his chances are limited with so many other options available at the moment.

Kamal Sowah has left the club and has signed a contract with Brugge.

With Scott Dann out of the defender addition picture, will it be a new approach or interest shown in a number of those other defenders on the list. Bologna defender Takihiro Tomiyasu and Middlesbrough’s Djed Spence as two of the latest players to be mentioned.

Tomiyasu has not been involved for Bologna in the season start with the 22 year old a hot name into the very end of this transfer window.

Never miss out on our fresh hot, cool and could update as we are getting closer to that final shut.

Simon Grayson

Embed from Getty Images

The first City skipper to gleefully raise a trophy at Wembley, Simon Grayson was acting captain on the day Derby were yanquished in the 1994 Play-Off Final, shortly before being named as the suppoerts choice for Player of the Year.

One of the trio of central defenders initially fielded for the game, yet also the man whose first time cross from the right led to Steve Walsh’s winning goal, Simon had previously starred in midfield and at right-back since his move from Leeds, and his dogged tenacity in each of those positions has been the most prominent feature of his Filbert Street game.

A useful anchorman in his early performances, which included the first Wembley Play-off encounter with Blackburn, he has subsequently settled to more overtly defensive roles, working hard to overcome occasional faults in technique and concentration, which were naturally mor eharsly exposed at Premiership level.

Simon, whose brother Paul was a Yorkshire county cricketer, made both his senior outings for Leeds (during 1987/88) while still a trainee, his £50.000 transfer to City came on the same day Ali Mouchlen moved ot Elland Road on loan.

In total he spent five seasons with Leicester City, been at this football club under the management of Brian Little, Mark McGhee and Martin O’Neill. He do have good memories of his time, but reflecting on a bus ride during a pre-season in Norway were he really had his heart ticking.

Simon added up 188 league games while with the club before being sold to Aston Villa in 1997, doing a new move to Blackburn Rovers two years later and from there to Blackpool where he also started his life as a manager.

He has stayed in management since then moving around at different clubs such as Huddersfield, Preston, Leeds and a return to Blackpool but at present doing his trade with Fleetwood.

He was seen as a bit of an expert taking clubs out League One and into the Championship as he managed that with the clubs mentioned above.

Man Utd winger to Leeds, RB Leipzig could be willing to let forward option leave, defender not joining Leicester

Embed from Getty Images

Still time to do business as we did see Daniel James linked with a move to King Power, but that looks a bit in the air at the moment with Leeds the favorite to get the Welsh international.

We did mentioned the name Ademole Lookman a week or so ago, but then the player was not linked, to see him framed as a possible target and close to a move is a major surprise, but a player that fitted the picture of joining.

Embed from Getty Images

What makes this a move that surprises is that Ademola Lookman himself do believe he will play any role at all, looking at previous loan players such as Nathan Dyer, Cengiz Under, Molla Wague, Ryan Bennnet and Aleksandar Dragovic not really being much involved.

Lookman spent last season on loan at Fulham, and has shown that he copes well with the level of Premier League football, but a bit surprised if he went to Leicester as a chance to play would have been better with Wolves or Crystal Palace, even staying at RB Leipzig.

The problem for Brendan Rodgers is the fear for injuries and having enough cover to cope with those challenges, and at this moment he has not yet given any of the new summer signings much game time as they all are seen on the fringe.

TCF believe that new signings and splashing out cash should be done on players that you have a instant first team role for, if not just let it be and give young up and coming players a chance to shine if those fringe chances happens.

Ozan Kabak that was heavily linked with a move to Leicester looks certian to join Norwich as we of course understand with a chance to play looking much better. Kabak is a talented defender and his short loan stay at Liverpool showed his skills, but still a bit left to be a first team starter in a team competing for Champions League football.

We have hoped to see one more defender joining and we do believe that Scott Dann could be the one, but he can join even after the window shut as he is a free agent. Ademola Lookman is the player to count as a possible new recruit, strangely nothing new about either Willian or Coutinho, who both at one time were linked, Willian said to join Corinthians in Brazil and Philippe Coutinho looks to be staying at Barcelona and getting a new and fresh start under Ronald Koeman.

To just keep up with all those moves, and those who got away, check our hot, cool and cold update.

Man Utd considering sale as Leicester are moving towards a closing of a certain transfer and hopeful of one more

Embed from Getty Images

The talk of new players coming in just before the transfer window shut can be a bit of a difficult scenario with the name Daniel James still in the frame. There are a group of players in the pond and among those the Wales international.

So why are Leicester chasing James, a similar type to Harvey Barnes and also one that can be seen as a player with the same attributes as Cengiz Under, and why would Man Utd let him leave when he has been very much involved in the season opening.

Embed from Getty Images

Daniel James has not featured as much as he would have liked, but cannot see him pushing any of our starters out of the first team set up at Leicester either, so it’s a difficult one, but in all seen often as one of those close targets. James has in his three seasons at Old Trafford played 50 league games and scored 6 goals. He was only on the field in 15 last season, but at least was involved in 9 Europa League games, which gives him that feeling of playing in a team that reached the final of this tournament last season.

Leicester do have 48 hours to conclude as we believe a flank man and a central defender are high on the list and we do not really have the best of clues as new names comes into the hat hour by hour. What we do are certain of and hopefully believe will happen is that one maybe two players will arrive late and on the closing hours of the transfer window shut.
