To find a new central defender to close the gap left behind with Wesley Fofana and Jonny Evans both injured, first of all there are alternatives inside the Leicester camp, and that could short term be the best alternative.

Filip Benkovic, Timothy Castagne and Daniel Amartey are all players who can play in back three, you can also slot in Ryan Bertrand as part of the three, so no need as we have said earlier to click the panic button. You also have the option to just move Wilfred Ndidi down, as was done last season, so in all Brendan Rodgers do have a number of quality alternatives in his own squad.

If and when a new player is added the number are many and as we all know the transfer window is not closing before the 31st of August, so it could be that it all drags out a bit before it’s done, with a number of names put in the frame.

So what are Leicester really looking for, a very experienced one, a young one or what?, looking at the players linked it’s a bit of a mix, but surely a younger player that can be seen as a long term player at the club, with the following names linked,

Last seaon Dael Fry was a player linked with a move to King Power, and this name has turned up again as a possible addition. Fry is rated among the best central defenders outside the PL and the price tag might scare off most clubs interested, said to be £30million.

Another name that has turned up in the gossip column is Clement Lenglet, currently with Barcelona. The 26 year could be available for a lower price belived to be in the region of £20million as the club are eager to offload a number of players in a search for financial stability.

Clement Lenglet played earlier for Sevilla before joining from Nancy. He has to date played 13 times for France and a player that would be a nice addition to the Leicester squad.

Bayern Munich defender Chris Richards is another name mentioned and now added to our hot, cool and cold list, freshley updated and with all the latest rumours included. Richard (21) is a young recruit still and with very little first team experience at the Bundesliga club, but again allready being capped on three occasions for USA, so with that perspective a bit of a Wesley Fofana copy as he probably looks similar in that perspectiv.
