During the time Brendan Rodgers has been in charge of Leicester we have seen up’s and down’s that really does not belong in a long term picture if you tend to stay on track towards the ultimate goal, which must be straight, getting into the top four and as a minimum fight for one trophy and hopefully get a place in Europe.

After following Leicester for a long time, those ambitions must be set clearly to the manager and from that perspective and the money used to get everything in shape, you certainly cannot make any excuses, though to have those ambitions for a club like Leicester is a tall order.

We did see the presence of Jonny Evans again and no doubt why Pep Guardiola considered him as a player for Man City. Evans (33) is the talisman at the club at the moment and without him Leicester looks totally lost. He is by many rated highly but probably does not get enough credit, and hopefully he can shake of his current injury problems and be in there at least for a couple of more years, and at 35 still younger than Juve and Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini.

With the correct mix in the team and the players around Evans having other key attributes that makes them perfect in this set up, you will not be seen as a weak link without enough pace. The way Caglar Soyuncu flourished in the game and feeling safe and comfortable, makes the presence of Evans probably top priority going forward.

Jamie Vardy and Kasper Schmeichel are two other players that makes huge impact and gives the team that stability and balance needed to give younger alternatives a chance to shine, and if BR can get everything in place, he will again benefit from it.

After a bit of a troublesome start this season, still only four points behind the fourth place, people are saying a lot, but a club like Leicester will never be able to cope with five to six injuries at the same time, and the team will be weakened by such a problems, so the hard job is to get the level of injuries down to a minimum.

To be able to field your best eleven you also need to fall down on a system you trust and one to use, with the three men defense probably the best alternative going forward with a number of options available, without falling into a trap.

We have seen Amartey, Evans, Vestergaard, Justin, Fofana, Soyuncu and Castagne all being able to play in that back three, Ryan Bertrand would also be an alternative as he could nicely fall back into that left position in a three if needed.

Great to see Soumare also coping well with the standards of Man Utd and really pushing for a starting place. As said earlier one of the most exciting young midfield prospects in the game all over, allready a Ligue 1 winner with Lille and surely a player that will be eager to chase more trophies as he knows the feeling and hunger needed to get over the line.

The midfield area can be seen as a four, but in real they are five, with Maddison just in front of Tielemans and Soumara, and of course settling it all with the presence of Pereira and Castagne, who are fantastic options on the flank, making this system a fluid adaption as the game moves on.

Then to have two forwards up front gives the team another balance and more strike force instaed of just depend on Jamie Vardy working wonders up front, hopefully we will see the structure established as a system going forward, but as we all know Brendan Rodgers is pragmatic regarding systems but to juggle with a three and a four in the back is seen in football terms as a big risk.

The value of Jamie Vardy and the soft introduction of Patson Daka hopefully will work perfectly as the Zambian youngster makes himself known and as Brendan Rodgers said would start pushing harder for a starting position in a team that with all players fit will be a difficult group to break down.

To fill gas correctly will be Brendan’s key to success. His juggling must stop. To be unpredictable can of course be used as an advantage, but for a player in a team to change positions and systems week in and week out, will never be an advantage. When filling gas you just do it the same way all the time, and it’s no big deal really, you thank it up as you are always doing, and that’s that. Keep it simple stupid!
