PSV player linked but silence regarding Madueke and Sangare as Leicester looks at Chelsea defender

We have seen a number of new names linked with Leicester, though they all look soft. The report on Cody Gakbo is one interesting as the Dutch international would be a good addition.

To see Gakbo as a potential signing comes in the range of PSV players seen as potential targets. Sangare and Madueke are two players earlier seen as possible additions, but at this moment none of them looks a certain signing.

The fact that Leicester do have a grand group of players and at present does not have controll on who will be in and out before the August season start, makes it difficult to add players.

Gakpo is a left winger but can of course operate at the other flank as well or just behind the top forward. His shot is well known in Dutch football. He made his full international debut in 2021 and has since added up 7 caps and scored 2 goals.

Levi Colwill spent last season on loan at Huddersfield and is highly rated at Chelsea. Southampton and Leicester are said to be in chase for him. Chelsea might be looking for a new loan move and not a permanent move for a player that potentially in a year or two could sniff at a starting position.

We will soon see some signs going into pre-season games starting at Notts County. We have seen in previous seasons changes can happen all up until the very last day of the transfer window.

The situation at present do not really say that Leicester should ad central defenders to their squad with Vestergaard, Evans, Amartey, Fofana, Soyuncu, Justin and Castagne all able to play in those two or three positions. Ben Nelson will most certainly also be seen competing next season.
