Leicester were seen linked in the chase of Flynn Downes who was said to be close to a move to Crystal Palace. Yesterday a deal looked almost clear but Palace never managed to get a deal over the line.
West Ham will be next for Downes as Swansea build a grand momentum on this sale. He has moved for an undisclosed fee believed to be in the region of £9million with a possible £14million in total after different criterias are reached.
Downes joined Swansea from Ipswich a year ago for £1,5million. To see him sold after one season for a fee of such a level makes it good business. West Ham on the other hand does know their trade as they have signed players from this level before with great results.
Jarrod Bowen, also a player Leicester were chasing, ended up at West Ham and has since his move there had a phenomanel progression and earlier this year making his full England debut.
It will be interesting to see how his progression will be but we believe the 23 year old former England U.20 international will be one to watch in Premier League in the coming seasons.
Downes is born in Essex and had his early life in football at Ipswich. He is said to be a West Ham fan from start and when his favourite club came around knocking he might have changed his mind on Crystal Palace.
