Leicester have a grand standing in developing young players either by getting them through to their own first team or giving them a chance to go elsewhere. This is of course the challenge for the young players at the club as we have seen Khanya Leshabela (Crewe) and Ben Nelson (Rochdale) both being loaned out to EFL clubs in recent days.
England youth interntional Brad Young could come next among the development players with stories out linking the promising goalkeeper with a move to Jamie Vardy’s former club Fleetwood Town.
He has this summer been seen travelling with the first team to a training camp in Evian and also been in and around the group for most of the pre-season build up. He joined from Hartlepool last summer and Leicester do have a tradition of goalkeepers and it will be interesting to follow this young prospect.
The competition for places in the development department is grand and with Arlo Doherty and Chituru Odunzu also available for U.21 duties as well as possible overaged alternatives you do see the use of giving others a chance to leave on loan.
Daniel Iversen is the first example of the idea to give players of development status a chance to play regular first team football elsewhere as he has been out over the last two seasons at Preston North End and before also had loan spells at Leuven and Rotherham.
