Gary Lineker is one of many who has not counted players at Leicester. He is in the camp of people doubting the power of the owners and their will to invest and believe that business is not as usual.
The picture is a bit more complicated as the limit of 25 will be an issue for the club as too many players are at the club at present and using £50million last summer without selling players, you understand that the barn is full.
The last big sale out of the club was Ben Chilwell, two seasons ago. The business modell is based on this phenomena that you have to sell a big asset to get a new in, but as long as you have so many players at the club at present you cannot press any new faces in.
Leicester will not be able to use £100million each summer and not sell any players, that has not been possible in the past and will not be a situation going forward.
Brendan Rodgers must be blamed for this as he filled the squad to the limit last season having 27 professional players in his first team frame. What happened to Nampalys Mendy must not be repeated as the Senegal international was left out of Premier League in the first part of the season, this made it impossible to buy new players, as more faces had to be left out on heavy wages.
This is of course something potential new players are aware of as the treath of being left out of the 25 is a massacre for a player and to have a new employer you cannot trust and being left out of a possible chance to play in Premier League might not be the idea you have when you decide to sign on the dotted line.
We have seen a number of players being shipped out either on loan or released, but the only move involving any money is surprisingly Kasper Schmeichel leaving for a fee of £1million.
Leicester do need to balance their books without being helped by the owners who could be slimmer at this point, but still a surprise to hear as the new training ground and the plans regarding King Power Stadium and the area around are moving forward, so we do not believe that would have happened if the club had some sort of financial problems.
Leicester need to ship out players and when The Tielemans and The Fofanas are not eager to stay on in contrast to the club who wants to tie down players long term with lucrative deals, you understand that a financial problematic situation would not allow such policy.
To be be able to invest in the squad firstly you need space to get them in and not see former big signings rot at the training ground and left out of the Premier League squad. This job is far from finished as we hope that Soumare, Tielemans and Fofana will leave and free up cash to use, but still there are too many good and very expensive players on the fringe.

At present this count include 29 players, Luke Thomas is not a player counted among the 25, as he is at the age of 21. This gives a count of 28 players.
George Hirst and Callum Wright are given U.21 opportunities so far, but both has in the last two seasons played regular football at either League One or Championship level and are not satisified at all to be left out of first team affairs.
To be able to sign a player you need to get more players out as they would be going on grass without Premier League games to play. This is the problem for Leicester as no clubs are willing or able to pay what Leicester do pay at the moment. Loan moves will not free up any cash and just free transfer signings can be made, and just to ship out players and pay £50million or more for a couple of new once has never been a scenario at this club not in the past and not going to happen in the future.
