According to sources in Poland, Spezia goalkeeper Bartłomiej “Bart” Dragowski is ready to join Leicester in January, with everything said to be in place for a quick move, when the transfer window opens.
This is of course sad news for Daniel Iversen who looks the one to see his exit appear. Sunderland, and Middlesbrough are both in chase for the Dane.
Danny Ward has been the favored alternative in front of Daniel Iversen who was the one playing in pre-season. His fantastic performance vs. Stockport in the EFL Cup looks to have no impact on a stubborn Brendan Rodgers.
Danny Ward is in real a highly rated goalkeeper but his shocking performances for Leicester so far has also seen him falling behind Forest reserve Wayne Hennessey as Wales has decided totally different from Leicester and Brendan Rodgers.
Contractual situations and a possible move for Dragowski will see Iversen leave. Dragowski is a fantastic talent and could be a long term solution on the situation that would stop any speculation of a Kasper Schmeichel return, one scenario that looks totally unlikely, due to wage demands.
If the Dragowski move should fall through, Schmeichel could be an loan option, but still coming back after such a short period at Nice, despite having a bit of difficulties to establish himself as a certain first team choice.
So who is Bartłomiej Dragowski?
Born in 1997, turned 25 in August. He made his full international debut in 2020 and so far been on the field twice for Poland. He joined Spezia in August this year moving from Fiorentina. He has been seen as one of the brightest goalkeeper talents in Europe, moving to Italy and Fiorentina in 2016.
Looking at his skills and performances you will see that Bortlomiej Dragowski is a better alternative than any of the goalkeeper options at Leicester at present.
He is a bit similar to Kasper Schmeichel in style as a grand shot stopper, but his height makes him also one that will cover the penalty area in a more dominant role. Alisson of Liverpool is one also similar in movement.
The big Pole is seen as a grand passer of the ball with a previous report showing in tallies of high scores in that department. Looking at this report, you will of course see why he is a hot target for Leicester in January.
Still early doors, but we do have a few new names in our fresh update on hot, cool and cold candidates. They are all recently been named as possible targets to join Leicester in January.
