Lecce is ready to make a decission on the future of Morten Hjulmand, saying no to Southampton and a €11million bid. We believe that €15million will be what it takes to bring in the up and coming midfielder with a previous life at FC Copenhagen.
Morten Hjulmand (23) could be joining Victor Kristiansen (20) as a new fresh Danish duo at the club, both with a past at FC Copenhagen. Hjulmand joined Lecce in 2021 after a period in Austria, playing for Admira Wacker.
He is climber Morten Hjulmand, and not yet made his full international debut for Denmark, as the competition for places in that midfield area is massive. He is leader on the field and captain of his team. Lecce won Serie B last season and so far things have been positive, standing 14th in Serie A to date, with a survival possible.
Leicester will of course be eager to close the gap after Youri Tielemans as he is expected to leave before the transfer window close and Lecce will try to find a solution if the correct bid arrives.
Morten Hjulmand is considered to be a defensive midfielder, but could easily slot in alongside Papy Mendy or Wilfred Ndidi and be a good alternative as his level of commitment and skills looks great.
