A new pre-season game is agreed as Leicester will play Northampton on the 15th of July at Sixfields Stadium. This is the third game planned with fixtures in Singapore and Bangkok scheduled later and close to season start, playing Spurs and Liverpool.

Leicester and Northampton are close neighbours and of course a short trip to get a competitive game against a newly League One promoted team.

Australian Jon Brady is their manager, and has been with The Cobblers since 2021. His background is one interesting with a period in time playing for Norwegian club Mjolner, who has also had former Leicester player George Armstrong on their books.

Brady (48) played mainly as a winger and made his name best known during his period at Rushden & Diamonds, playing for this defunct club from 1998 to 2002. He later represented Chester, Stevenage, Hereford and Cambridge. Later at Brackley in non-league both as a player and manager.

Josh Eppiah spent last season at Northampton on loan, but was a fringe contributer, playing only 3 games in their promotion season.

A short trip for fans who would like to watch this one, as the distance between the two cities are 46 km or if you like 29 miles.

Leicester last faced Northampton in a league match, back in 2008/09. Leicester drew 0-0 at home, and managed a 2-1 win away.
