Enzo Maresca looks to have won the race to become the next head coach at Leicester, but still confusion regarding back room staff and how his role will be, not at this point being said to have a traditional manager position.
Rumours are that Esteban Cambiasso could return to Leicester in a capacity under Maresca as the two are familier from the past. We all know how Cambiasso quit the club to move on and decided to join Olympiacos.
Championship promotion campaigns are heavy battles and in the last campaigns you have Paul Heckingbottom (Sheff Utd), Vincent Kompany (Burnley) and Rob Edwards (Luton) being the once bring success and promotion. Last season you had Marco Silva (Fulham), Scott Parker (Bournemouth) and Nottingham Forest (Steve Cooper) coming up, as they all are experienced men in the trade of management.
You can of course compare Enzo Maresca with Vincent Kompany, but then you should pay a one way ticket to somewhere, because they have only one thing in commen, being at Man City. Kompany is a very different person looking at his background as a player and manager, and to just think in that direction, comparing the two, is no use at all.
Would rather compare him to John Carver or Craig Shakespeare, mainly being a man in the staff and surely being comfortable in that position. He had his major chance at Parma, but failed, but still not convinced Leicester are going in the correct direction with this appointment.
There are also doubts about what will happen regarding staff as Adam Sadler and Mike Stowell both are contracted to the club in some capacity.
There are also doubts about the role, said to be head coach and not manager, which is very different as your role will be more connected to the players and team and not the full business, regarding transfers and money use, which a manager do have a say, what Enzo Maresca will be do looks more like a coaching role, which also is his top skill.
We will just wait and see how the set up will look like. At this point no confirmation, but many major news channels such as BBC and Sky Sports are talking abut him joining, so we feel this looks more concrete and on point, than the previous talk, but still no confirmation from the official voice.
