Leicester were back competing in The Norwegian Supporters Union Cup (Supportercupen), not taking part since 2002. Two of the players from the team in 2002, reaching the quarter finals, also played this time.

A squad of 10 players made it possible to participate in this 7 a side tournament, coming out of the group games as winners, taking on Blackburn (2-1), Man Utd (2-0) and Southampton (2-2).

To get into the group of last 16 was more than expected, meeting Leeds. Leicester played their best game of the tournament and had several chances to score, but Leeds converted one of their few attempts, winning the game 1-0.

Leicester played the games vs. Blackburn, Southampton and Leeds in blue shirts. Against Man Utd using a special designed shirt for the event, with a Norwegian logo of the Leicester badge, designed by Luke Reilly.

A friendly and fantastic day in the sun, made this a special happening.

Jamie Vardy had his place, being on the back of one forward shirt. Kelechi Iheanacho, Liam Moore and Ben Chilwell shirts were also seen. Two father and son combinations also made the mix of this team.

Thanks to everyone that helped us along the way to get this team on it’s feet and in place for the event, arrangend at Snarøya outside Oslo on the 17th of June 2023.

Liverpool were this years winners, bringing the trophy home after 4-3 on penalties, as the final ended 1-1 at full time.

SBF at present counts 53 member clubs. This year 28 teams took part in this cup event.

A grand number of players in the tournament are also playing in the Norwegian League system, and in the past even former professionals of the clubs teams have been playing, so a bit of everything as Leicester this time picked up 7 points and moved one place up in the Maratontabell of the tournament.

Brilliant to be back and hopefully participate again if possible, as LCSCSB continues to work for support and welfare regarding LCFC.
