Leicester looks to have been on a scouting mission in Scandinavia, said to be following Akor Adams of Lillestrom. The Nigerian has an impressive goalscoring ratio this season, and at 23 years of age possibly looking at a move to progress.

Norwegian, Swedish and Danish football leagues do have a number of interesting players to watch as Leicester earlier this week recruited Mads Hermansen from Brondby and made a move earlier in the year for Victor Kristiansen as he joined from FC Copenhagen.

Interest from abroad are shown on a daily basis with news appearing on transfers happening during this summers transfer window even though the leagues are running and clubs are in full season. This also makes it possible to have a look at players in their best environment.

Akor Adams is one of many players being tracked from clubs abroad, using Norway as a transit league to get his football career running at a higher level. No clubs in Scandinavia can compete with the top leagues of Europe and even 2nd tiers in Germany, England, Holland, France Italy and Spain can find players relatively cheap as they are approached.

A recent move was Mjondalen forward Kristian Lien (21) joining Groningen in Dutch Eresdivisie, being the topscorer in the 2nd tier of Norwegian football when making his move.

In the past years we have not seen many transfers directly from Scandinavia to the top leagues in Europe, but often players have used a league in Austria, Holland and Belgium to make their move to England, Italy or the German top flight. Direct moves could happen as the level of Championship football could be easier to adapt to then going straight into Premier League action, which is often a direct step too much to handle.

We did see Chelsea signing David Datro Fofana from Molde in the January transfer window, but surely he needs to adapt, and will next season play for Union Berlin in Bundesliga and possibly also getting valuable game time in European action.

Erling Braut Haalands cousin Jonatan Braut Brunes (22) is a player to watch as the young forward makes progress on every level he attracts. At present he is playing for Stromsgodset in the top tier of Norwegian football and has taken huge steps this season, with 5 goals so far. He scored 12 goals in 15 league games for Start at tier two earlier on.

The recent U.19 Euro’s competition did see a new chapter in Norwegian football, the team reaching a semi-final, as they made history. Players from this group will certainly be interesting to follow as they will take steps towards the top of European football, some of them allready signed by clubs abroad.

19 year old Varberg BOIS forward Dion Krasniqi is another talent to watch. He is representing Kosovo and made his U.21 debut almost a year ago. In a recent game vs. IFK Goteborg, he socred both goals in the 2-1 win at Gamla Ullevi.
