Jonny Evans came on for Man Utd 2nd half in a friendly against Lyon this evening, replacing Rafael Varane. Donny Van de Beek scored the only goal of the game just a few minutes into the 2nd half, also him a sub, replacing Kobby Mainoo.

Brendan Rodgers might have had a totally different outcome of his situation at Leicester if it had not been for the injuries of Jonny Evans. Evans has in his prior years at Leicester been brilliant for the club, winning the FA Cup, reaching the semi’s of Conference League as well as ending 5th in two Premier League seasons.

The deal of Jonny Evans at Man Utd is said to be short term, but his vision and football knowledge could soon see the N Ireland defender with 102 caps, be given a chance to be part of this seasons challenges at Man Utd.

A player that you can depend on in every situation and one that has leadership qualities as well as knowing what it takes to win those major trophies, earlier winning Premier League, EFL Cup and Champions League with Man Utd as well a winners medal in the FA Cup with Leicester.

To see Jonny Evans in a Man Utd line-up alongside the Norweigan youngster Isak Hansen-Aarøen (18) is also one for the bookies as the odds would have been sky high on that happening just a few weeks ago.

So far no conclusion is made regarding the season for Jonny Evans, as his contract is said to be one signed just to be able to play in pre-season games and taking part in training, as he could still be up for grabs.

Everton and Celtic are both said to be keen to sign him, with Leicester having talks earlier in the summer.

We just wish Jonny Evans the very best, injury free, few can match him.
