With the signing of Stephy Mavididi imminent and a number of aspects to look at before the season opener, it will be interesting to see how everything will look when Leicester play Liverpool tomorrow.

Leicester are favourites to win The Championship according to a check and update from The Telegraph, giving Leicester the best odds, but still there are much doubt about the situation inside the fanbase.

The squad is still very unbalanced as we do have five goalkeepers and five left back alternatives in the squad. The signing of Stephy Mavididi will give Enzo Maresca more flank alternatives up front, and a move out of the club for Kelechi Iheanacho would be seen as natural.

Wilfred Ndidi is a riddle at present, Bouba Soumare could also be in the dark, as we can’t really see the place to play them, despite Ndidi playing 90 minutes vs. Port FC and scoring the only goal of the game.

To have harmony among players, system of play, and everyone knowing their role and not be on the sidelines with no hope, and having a dog walk as the most important job, is not what we like to see. Players under contract must be respected and given a role that suits their development and standards.

Jannik Vestergaard and Dennis Praet are two players that under Brendan Rodgers arrived as proven internationals, signed for substantial fees, and at present both are far from their own self belief. Praet and Vestergaard actually shows the perfect picture on what went wrong under Brendan Rodgers.

Leicester looks to be reluctant to let players leave for fees far from expectations, but the squad balance needs to be in place and at present you have too many questions still not answerred.

Five goalkeepers, needs to be reduced to three, or even down to two, as the U.21 alternatives Brad Young and Chituru Odunze, both are good enough to be the third alternative, if needed. Seldom or never will it be necessary to use three goalkeepers during a season. At present we believe Mads Hermansen will be a first choice and the rest is difficult to predict.

There are still a lot of questions in defence, related to the different roles and positions, with Ricardo Pereira, Timothy Castagne, Conor Coady and Wout Faes looking as starters, if fit, but still no real momentum to judge from. Tomorrow line-up will give certain answers. Harry Souttar and Jannik Vestergaard are central defenders to also consider. James Justin, Victor Kristiansen and Luke Thomas are other alternatves together with Callum Doyle, so in real too many players, but still all good quality at this level.

Looking at the midfield area, Harry Winks looks a certain starter, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is also one player that looks in. Wilfred Ndidi, Bouba Soumare, Dennis Praet and Hamza Choudhury are also fighting for a place, with McAteer and Madivadua others in contention.

Getting Mavididi in will be exciting. At present we do have Kelechi Iheanacho, Jamie Vardy, Patson Daka and Marc Albrighton in contention, all of them grand quality at Championship level.

There are still talk about more players in, with an offensive midfielder as one to look for. We will get a number of answers in the game vs. Liverpool, and hopefully everything will be ready and settled to bring a win in the season opener vs. Coventry.
