Stephy Mavididi move to Leicester, said to be confirmed later today, has seen Montpellier placing a bid for LSK forward Akor Adams. Adams (23) has earlier also been linked with Leicester, after an impressing season in the Norwegian top tier.
Adams would be the ideal replacement for Mavididi as a fee of £5million is said to be what Montpellier is willing to pay, a massive fee for a player in Norwegian football.
This will of course see them strike fast and use some of the money on a new forward, as the French team. Montpellier ended 12th last season in Ligue 1.
No secret about Mavididi returning to England and hopefully soon be confirmed as a new Leicester player, and of course a massive signing as he leaves a French top tier club to be part of a push for promotion at Leicester.
Mavididi played 26 league games last season and scored 4 goals and had 2 assists for Montpellier, not a massive tally, but hopefully his ability to play wide will give Enzo Maresca more options in front.
Akor Adams is an unproved player at a higher level, but still scoring goals in almost every game, gives a certain idea of how he can progress and why the fee offered comes close to Mavididi’s price, and of course a sign that the former Arsenal and Juventus player is close to his move.
