Leicester were up against Liverpool today as they prepared their season start in Championship, with Caglar Soyuncu out fighting Man City and keeping Erling Haaland silent in the game. The Norwegian left the field after 55 minutes.

Cags was outstanding and the only player playing the full game for Atletico Madrid. Man City struggled to find a path to goal with the former Leicester defender appearing with excelence in the their backline.

He left Leicester for free and was unfairly stamped “not in the right frame” by Brendan Rodgers as he ruined his own manager career in Premier League and kept his ego higher than the club as relegation happened. Later taken back in the team by Dean Smith, but an injury stopped him from playing crucial games to the end of the season.

He was in the back five together with another player being treated wrongly, Cesar Azpilicueta, said to be “too old” and over the hill, but a certain Diego Simeone bringing both in for a fee of nothing. Cags is among the best defenders in Europe, Azpilicueta still going strong at 33, and far from finished, as the Atletico manager probably have more knowledge than you and me.

Goals from Carrasco and Depay secured the win for Atletico Madrid. Diaz scored the Man City goal when 2-0 down, as the score ended 2-1. It’s great to see Cags doing so well and being showed the credit he really deserves as his potential is huge and hopefully no one in the future will treat him as badly as Brendan Rodgers did.

Man City has done well in their previous pre-season games, but this time they had their struggles as they came up against the two men of zero.
