Amazing and fantastic but still no guarantee for first team action under Enzo Maresca for McAteer and Marcal

We have seen both Kasey McAteer and Marcal Madivadua getting their fair share of action under Enzo Maresca, through pre-season and on into the season, both players contributing with goals in games so far.

Kasey McAteer has looked fresh and hungry, as he looks to have taken massive steps. He looks like somehting very promising and hopefully Enzo Meresca will keep this jewel in the team, despite bringing in so many wide attacking alternatives.

Kasey McAteer played a massive part in the 2-1 away win vs. Rotherham, scoring both goals, showing grand presence, determination and cleverness. Watching him in pre-season in the game against Liverpool, made it a moment, watching his moves and performance in that game, thoughts were, “this is special”, and he has since evolved and been among the best players in the team, and also trusted by Enzo Maresca. So far 4 games and 2 goals in Championship action.

Marcal-Madivadua scored his first goal for Leicester in the home win vs. Cardiff, as he strangely was dropped from the team for Rotherham, with Enzo Maresca picking two goalkeepers on the bench, leaving Marcal in the stands. Since been back in action when Leicester played Tranmere in that 2-0 win at Prenton Park.

The addition of Yunus from Galatasary and Abdul Fatawu from Sporting, as well as having Marc Albrighton, Patson Daka and Stephy Mavididi available will see the competition massive for places for those two wide attacking positions.

Kasey McAteer and Marcal-Madivadua are both home grown players and to see them being played is just lovely, but why Enzo Maresca wanted all that competition must surely be uncertainty about the two delivering quality performances over a full season.

Marcal is born in Leicester and grew up in Peterbrough. He is of Portuguese and Angolan descent, and has represented Portugal U.20 four times. Kasey McAteer is born in Northampton and both players joined Leicester at a young age growing their talent in the LCFC academy.

We are so keen to see the two taking steps into first team at Leicester and hopefully the progress will continue as Enzo Maresca hopefully have a plan for the two recruits.
