A season can be disturbed by different challenges as player injuries, suspensions and other issues can kick in. AFCON is also something that can you a headache. The fact that other teams also can see through you and in that sense you need to be adaptable to system changes, as we have seen done in the Carabao Cup.

Enzo Maresca and his coaching team looks to have eyes on that, as they have a squad adaptable of change. We could soon see Leicester play with two men up front, as they have a fantastic four in place.

Patson Daka, Tom Cannon, Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho all are forwards that should be given game time and instead of playing with a hybrid midfielder in Riardo Pereira, having a 3-5-2 in place for certain games.

Certain players such as Yunus, McAteer, Albrighton and Mavididi could all drop down in a wide position on the flank, and would also fit perfectly for Ricardo Pereira to play on the right flank. Would also love to see Yunus in given freedom to go inside and wander into the middle as his vision and technique would handle that.

To be adaptable is a key to it all and with AFCON coming up, Leicester most certainly will see Iheanacho (Nigeria), Ndidi (Nigeria), Daka (Zambia) and Fatawu (Ghana) all being picked by their nations to play in the tournament.

This will of course give other players a chance to play and to have good cover and alternatives to be ready for action for those dates and periods.

Injuries can of course also be an issue as we did see last season and so far this season, with a certain Conor Coady being out with a foot fracture, giving Jannik Vestergaard a chance to play regularly first team football.

One other issue is also the transfer challenges at the club, as Leicester cannot afford to lose out on a big and major move, and players out of contract next summer will be in difficulties as the club do have priorities regarding negotiations that will be extremely difficult with the relegation that appeared last season, seeing so many players on contracts of massive money based on Premier League life.

Hopefully all of this can be handled in the best way possible, but far from an ideal situation when you are trying to build a good and balanced squad being in line with future plans.
