Enzo Maresca made changes to his line-up from the Hull game, but still surprising to see Wout Faes on the bench, probably an explenation, but anyway, playing James Justin is not a bad alternative.

Leicester came out like lightening and scored after 21 seconds and it was Jamie Vardy that hit the net. Leicester continued to put pressure on the Saints defence and after 18 minutes, Kasey McAteer scored with a nice touch from a magnificant Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall pass.

Southampton had their chances and in all fairness they were equal in play and in the 25th minute Sam Edozie scored a goal and they pushed for an equalizer, but it was not to be, instead Leicester scored their third with a fantastic finish from Wilfred Ndidi, as it stood 3-1 to Leicester at half time.

Going into 2nd half, Southampton put pressure on Leicester, but with pacy players such as Stephy Mavididi, Jamie Vardy and Kasey McAteer you will find Leicester dangerous on counterattack.

Then in the 67th minute Stephy Mavididi showed everyone at St. Mary’s what a great signing he looks for Leicester, turning one Southampton defender on his own half and just sprinting towards the goal and with a clinical finish, scoring as Leicester were 4-1 up.

Enzo Maresca made a number of changes, first bringing on Cesare Casadei for Wilfred Ndidi, early on 2nd half, and later minutes for Yunus, Choudhury, Iheanacho and Fatawu. taking off Winks, Dewsbury-Hall, McAteer and Vardy.

The game finished 4-1 and after 6 minutes of stoppage time, Saints also had to see Sulemana getting a red card as the humilation was complete. Leicester are on top of the Championship table with 15 points, a massive start and lovely to watch the team scoring four and hammer Southampton again at St. Mary’s.
