Gary Rowett is known for his no nonsense approach and direct honest talk, as well as having a good focus on defensive structure and organisation. He is also known for taking teams out of trouble and lift them to a certain level, but also been said to play boring and stone age football.
Yesterday was scrappy in many ways, but the result in itself is the most important. No one really cares at this time how the game was won. We only care about the points in the scary situation that have appeared.
Points deduction and a relegation situation is clearly what it is at this moment. Yesterday Leicester scored their goals from one set piece situation and a bumpy miss from Bobby De Cordova-Reid ending up at Abdul Fatawu’s feet. Both goals are of course coming as Leicester manage to press Bristol City towards their own goal.
It was a major surprise to see Patson Daka being rested and Jordan Ayew given a starting position. We do not see any pattern between Fatawu, Ayew and Mavididi, all looks as individual approaches from the two wingers without a proper support or understanding from their top man. Ayew or Daka is not really linking up, and comes second on almost every ball, not really giving the two wingers alterantives inside the box.
The fact that Leicester have Jordan James, Abdul Fatawu and Stephy Mavididi in this team, can in real be enough to win a number of games going forward. Their individual skills are there to find goals without having to trust others. They can create things on their own.
Onto the next one ✊

Gary Rowett looks to have given this team a bit more energy. The fact that he has rotated seven players in the goalkeeper position and back four, is a major riddle. He has not managed to find a good momentum, but still the players have adjusted and done as much as they have managed. The fact that he decided to play Asmir Begovic as his first choice, and had to give Jacub Stolarczyk the place back when Begovic was injured, makes it evident what he must do going forward. Jacub Stolarczyk is a much better goalkeeper and have a wider range in goal. He did not see these qualities of that younger goalkeeper, ending up deciding 38 year old Begovic was a better choice.
We are not at all convinced about Gary Rowett at this time. His team selection is random. Injuries have appeared and also some rotation done, without giving any clues. With no rest between games coming thick and fast, surely one or two changes must happen. The quality should be there to grab more points. The fact that the manager is unsure and has not yet found any sort of momentum in his selection, is a huge worry.
Dr. Rowett might have a number of bottles of different medicine to prescribe. However, he seems to conduct a lottery each time. He randomly picks the bottle he believes is correct from game to game. He does not really know the content of the bottles.
We need to see another win at home vs. Queens Park Rangers. Individual quality will be important. Further hopefully be able to see some sort of pattern in play.
