Notts County 1, Leicester 1, Positives and Negatives, Player Ratings and Match Report, League One Fixture

Leicester manager Russell Martin had a few changes to his starting line-up. Stephy Mavididi missing from the squad, being replaced by Wes Burns from the game vs. Northampton. Alex McCarthy in goal, getting his Leicester debut, replacing Jacub Stolarczyk.

Leicester were the superior team from start, but again having possession is no use if you can’t produce goals. This made it easy for Notts County to go on a few counter attacks. Will Alves was lively from start and showed his best, but again it could have started terribly, Alex McCarthy doing stupid mistakes in passing and looked rusty and not ready for this job at all.

Leicester 1, Northampton 0, Positives and Negatives, Player Ratings and Match Report, Carabao Cup Fixture

Again shocking to see the use of Bobby De Cordava-Reid as a top attacking striker in this Leicester line up. Liam Cullen in a role behind, said to be a 4-1-4-1 set up.

Nathan Opoku absent and not in the squad. This is a team not really having the ability to be fluid in any way. Not knowing why Russell Martin decides to use the Jamaican as an alternative in this position. Will Alves or Liam Cullen would have been a much better alternative, without a proper striker option. BDCR is in no way able to do this job. When getting the line-up, believed it was Liam Cullen starting up front, but it was not.

Leicester struggled heavily from start, when after one minute, Northampton given a massive chance to score from a total black out Harry Souttar pass. He passed the ball straight into the feet of The Cobblers new signing from Tranmere, Harry Saunders, but a quick reaction from Jacub Stolarczyk saving his attempt.

Leicester 0, Genoa 1, Positives and Negatives, Player Ratings and Match Report, Pre-Season Friendly

Leicester played a friendly against Coventry earlier today, losing 0-1. This match was behind closed doors, allowing more players to get more game time. As a result, a complete setup for the game against Genoa was unlikely.

This was the first and only pre-season outing at King Power Stadium, Leicester coming to the game with loads of confidence. Having played five pre-season games, not yet defeated, gave us all hope for a good game.

Leicester’s lineup was a bit unbalanced, playing Bobby De Cordova-Reid as the main striker was not the best choice. Newly signed Liam Cullen was positioned just behind Reid, even though he often played up front for Swansea last season.
