Leicester and Northampton are close neighbours, but lived a life away from each other in League football. A number of former foxes and cobblers are known in both camps. They will play each other in pre-season friendly this summer.

Last season Josh Eppiah spent time on loan at Northampton playing there also the season before adding up 17 league games and scoring 2 goals, despite having a time on the sidelines with injury. Eppiah was released by Leicester this summer and we will see what happens next fro the Belgian forward.

Leicester played Blackburn in the FA Cup last, defeated 2-1 at home Feburary this year. This afternoon Leicester are facing Rovers again, and memories goes back to a previous meeting from the past, when Paul Dickov scored the 1-0 winner in the FA Cup quarter finals in 2005, this sent his previous club, and new club to be, out of the tournament

This time we hope that Leicester can get through, thinking of another former fox from that game also in the line up as Keith Gillespie played the game at Ewood Park that day.

There are several players who have been at both Middlesbrough and Leicester. Brian Deane is one that comes to mind. Deane played for Middlesbrough from 1998 to 2001. His tally of games and goals was 87/18. He joined Leicester from Boro’ and again joined up with “Harry” Bassett. He was a key player in the 2002/03 promotion season, a total of 52 league appearances and 19 goals before joining West Ham in the autumn of 2003.

David Mills, once the most expensive player in English footbal when moving from Middlesbrough to West Bromwich in the late 70’s. He later became a scout at Leicester and has been part of the system for a long period of time, known especially for discovering N’Golo Kantè.
