The team selection had one top quality surprise, Wesley Fofana was back in action and what a vitamine injection it was. Caglar Soyuncu missed the game and Brendan Rodgers made a bold decision to play Fofana instead in his absence.

No start for James Maddison either as his fitness might be a question and good to see Kelechi Iheanacho also getting a chance to start as his presence deserves that.

We all had high hopes for a win at home in the first leg of this Conference League clash. The game started well for Leicester who had good options sitting on the bench and good to see James Maddison back in place for a bit of action from his start on the bench.

Rennes showed everyone at King Power Stadium that they are a football team of certain class and that Leicester had to be sharp both up front and in defence.

Rennes or Stade Rennais F.C if you like to use the full and correct name of the team Leicester will play in the last 16 of the Europa Conference League.

French football is mostly seen as a one man show with PSG flying the flag. Not to offense anyone but it’s a while since Lyon or Marseille did fly the flag and even though Lille won Ligue 1 last season they are not seen as a major club in Europe.
