Leicester City are up against Fleetwood in their next game, taking on the relatively new EFL club this Tuesday. This is a 2nd round Carabao Cup clash.
We all know the story with Jamie Vardy, who was signed from Fleetwood back in 2012, for a record fee of £1 million. Then Fleetwood Town was a non-league team and has since moved up the ladder. No one at the club has scored 20 league goals or more, since Jamie Vardy did so in the 2011-12 season.
Leicester City played Fleetwood Town in the FA Cup last season and had to settle for a draw away and then a 2-0 win a few days later, out on the field was a certain Cian Bolger. Bolger played for Leicester City from 2010 to 2013, but never for the first team, he moved on to Bolton, and later to Southend and to Fleetwood where he is a trusted central defender, now 26 years of age
Another former fox has also been at Fleetwood Town, Iain Hume, spending some time on loan at Highbury back in 2014. He was then with Preston North End. Hume, 34 today, is now trying his luck in India, playing for his fifth club in the league, Pune City.
Jamie Vardy is out with a red card suspension, and will not play against his former club, as he missed the prevous clash. Cian Bolger is also a former fox who has been on the books at Fleetwood.
