Kevin Ellison still on fire at the age of 42 will get his Wembley trip on Monday playing for Newport County against his former club Morecambe. Scoring in the previous round v. Forest Green, coming on as a sub, and with no thoughts of retirement, he is ready to play on. What a fantastic possibility for the former fox. Ellison has one game in the top flight for Leicester City, coming on at Old Trafford twenty years ago. This was the only game Ellison played in the top flight and has since been a great servant at a number of low tier clubs and for the past nine years played 352 league games for Morecambe, scoring 81 goals, but made an emotional farewell last summer and joined Newport County, now he could get his ultimate revenge.

Yesterday Riyad Mahrez, Ben Chilwell and N’Golo Kantè all were in action in the Champions League final seeing the two Chelsea recruits as winners and good to see that both players were influential and on top. Riyad Mahrez came close just seconds from the end, but it went wide.

On Wednesday two former foxes were also representatives for their clubs in the Europa League final, but none of them played a part, but still had their time in the tournament at an earlier stage. Vicente Iborra and Harry Maguire did their best to help out from the sidelines, and as we could see in the end, Iborra became the ultimate winner, seeing Maguire doing the guard of honor.

Looking a bit around and as this strange season came to an end, of course you have to look at what was going on at sister club, OH Leuven. Leicester City chairman Top is also the head of this club with Rudkin and Whelan also being among the directors, so the close connection is very interesting and the growth and development at OH Leuven should be looked at with special eyes.

This campaign that ended in a 11th place as their first season back in the top flight we will see who will be back at the club with former and current Leicester City players being part of the club this season. Filip Benkovic, Andy King, Khemal Sowah and Josh Eppiah were all in action at OH Leuven last season.

Kasper Schmeichel will of course travel with Denmark and a certainty in a team that can go all the way. To date 60 caps and all of them as a Leicester City player and to date the clubs most capped player.

N’Golo Kantè will be travelling with France. Cengiz Under and Kaglar Soyuncu are both in the Turkey preliminary squad. Exciting days in front before the big kick off, and we will see how our current and former foxes will do over the next weeks, best of luck.
