Alan Hudson and Kerry Dixon talking “Chelsea”, “Worthy” and “Speedie” also drodling back to a special Leicester debut at 16

Listening into former stars of football is always a nice ride down memory lane, as well as getting their views and aspects on what is happening today, as they give their reflections on life.

This Sunday Leicester will play Chelsea, as we do have grand memories of players in both camps, watching on channels and different updates as you prepare for this special day. Kerry Dixon and Alan Hudson are two grand heroes of the Chelsea past, as well as having fond memories of their relations to former Leicester players David Speedie and Frank Worthington.

As you surf on the football wave you stumble on good and special updates, one is The Alan Hudson Podcast, updates are many on those glittering days of the past, but also reflections and fun facts on recent days of those stars that used to entertain us enormously with their fantastic easy and relaxed approach to football.

Alan Hudson, banned from international football after refusing to tour with the England under-23 side, did not make his England debut until 1975, when sparkling performances earned him two call-ups by then England manager Don Revie. He starred in the team that beat 1974 FIFA World Cup champions West Germany 2–0 at Wembley, and then in the 5–0 destruction of Cyprus. However, injuries and clashes with Revie meant that those two caps were the only ones he earned. He was called up as a late replacement by Ron Greenwood in 1978 for a match against Brazil. Hudson refused to join up as he was not in the original squad.

Different issues and talks from his career are a great part of his podcast, listening in, you will get a good update on his reflections as one of the rounds and in talk with Tommy Langley making his debut as a 16 year old, playing Leicester, is nice to reflect on.

The topics are millions and of course listening to Alan Hudson having Tony Currie on to talk of “Worthy” in the days that our great hero left us, makes us all realize what the boundary was like among those players competing back in those days.

Listening in on the interview of Kerry Dixon also give us interesting details and his relation to David Speedie, as the two were not really best mates in the start, being told by their manager at the time, John Neal, to just fix their unsettled battles and carry on playing, becoming another iconic “little and large” partnerships in football.

A number of players of the past had their off the field challenges, so for Alan Hudson and Kerry Dixon. Their life in the game, will for always be remembered as fantastic and with lovely memories, doing what others could not, as their skills were special.
