Leicester in limbo as transfers out are needed to get back on track and building a balance of belief

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is the hot name and major selling object in the Leicester squad. His value is on a level that could start the roll back to base of a financial balance.

The fact that a great number of players also can be leaving on a free could see a massive reduction of the wagebill, but still you need to be able to compete, as the club looks ready to set their priorities.

The goal in the past was to be part of a group of teams fighting for Europe, but we all know the cost and how a manager will approach that challenge. Looking wisely at the talk of Brendan Rodgers, not really being on terms with reality, and instead the club needs a new fairless and grounded approach.

To be a top 10 team in Premier League should be the ultimate goal. Of course having a go in the cups as well as being on a challenge of Europe, if possible, but not by splashig the cash in a way that will see Leicester again in difficulties regarding FFP and PRS.

The academy will be the most important recruitment arena for the manager in charge, not the transfer market at the highest shelf in Europe. Looking back on players such as Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kantè should be the inspiration, coming in from the unknown for minor fees. The club and the fans needs to know and understand that one major sale is needed just to get the water running. This is bread and butter inside a football club at the size of Leicester. To be able to compete you need to sell a major asset and use that money wisely to build more solidity and develope your project.

Said earlier we believe a new contract will be in place for Jamie Vardy, we could also see a return of Kasper Schmeichel. How it will appear, not to speculate, but the time and place for a reunion with Kasper, could come in a different way, or in another capacity, we certainly hope he will rejoin.

Kelechi Iheanacho and Marc Albrighton are two players that has been around for a while, both looks to be gone after this season. One chance of keeping Marc Albrighton, would be to have him around the u.21 set up and help them progress as we have seen at Liverpool, using Jay Spearing as a coach and player in the academy, just to have that experience around. Dean Hammond had a similar role at Leicester, returning for half a season a few years back. Jannik Vestergaard should be offered a new deal, and we believe he will as long as Enzo Maresca is in charge. TCF rate Vestergaard very highly and as we have said in previous articles, used correctly in a team with pace in and around him, he is a very valuable player both with his accurate passing, height and having the winning edge inside both boxes.

Strange affair regarding Luke Thomas as his situation at Leicester is not sorted. looking at it in the back mirror, he should have been sold instead of loaned out. He played on loan at Sheffield United, then moving to Middlesbrough, to see the full season out at The Riverside, not really having a grand performance in total. We would be surprised to see him getting a new deal, but still a player that could have gained a potential £10million fee if sold last summer, but then again probably no bids to take into consideration. He looks far from the first favourite of Enzo Maresca, despite being a local home grown player with international experience at England u.21 level.

Daniel Iversen, currently loaned to Stoke, as he looks to help The Potters to security, potentially being sold for a fee between £3 to £5 million to get the size of goalkeeper alternatives down. Stoke is one club probably be eager for a transfer, but being linked with other clubs in the past, he hopefully has a number of offers to look at. To see him at Leicester next season would be far from expected.

Wilfred Ndidi and Dennis Praet are also free to leave, both having a presence that would see them attractive for other clubs. The key to it all is crystal clear, do they look at the Enzo Maresca project one to be part of, will they be offerend a new deal, or is it a final goodbye after the next two games.

Callum Doyle looks to return to Man City, would be a surprise if he made a permanent move or extended his loan for another season. Danny Ward could attract attention from other clubs over the summer, being linked with a move to Sheffield United in January.

Lewis Brunt has been brilliant for Mansfield this season, possibly returning a much better player, but if he will be one for the project or given a chance to move on, not easy to say. Nathan Opoku is also one name to look at as the forward will be back at Leicester to get treatment for his fractured leg injury, certainly a player that can shine in the future, or become another sales object.

We will be following up on all happenings regarding transfer talk and different topics on potential players, possible departures and more, so never miss out on our daily hot, cool and cold updates as we reach one very exciting period in the football year, the ultimate and wonderful “silly season”.
