We have this week seen news about a potential sale of Leicester City FC. Financial Times, Sky Sports and Thai based news channels are among those reporting on the matter. As trusted sources you will of course listen and make your assumptions.
But when you look into it, there’s nothing concrete here. Earlier this year, we heard similar news about the same situation. First, there were vague reports about a Middle Eastern company or consortium interested in the club. Then, a few weeks later, a local property company showed interest in buying the training ground and stadium.
This has turned into mere speculation and chatter, similar to the stories from last week. It appears to be the same type of reports with unnamed sources, creating potential headlines about a football club that has endured a difficult period and has become a source of negativity, while these outlets are boosting their financial accounts.
The football club’s financial situation has been troubled since 2021, fluctuating between losses and profits based on player sales and signings. They’ve neglected proper squad logistics and followed a confusing plan without recognizing the looming issues ahead.
To see grown up business men and women running a club on these terms, shows little or no insight into anything related to football, not really understanding how you build up a good relationship between the football club and their fans.
We all know that fans demand certain results, and they are happy on a matchday if you bring forward a good result in some sort of balance with the prediction, if not they will have a go and be bad tempered, that is the simple understanding of a regular football fan.
To see reports from Sky Sports and Financial Times regarding a potential sale of the club, will again rise uncertainty among fans and of course also influence players, sports management and other staff. When a current owner decide to sell his business, this will never be seen as a positive, before you get it done and over the line.
So why are this information circulating at this point, with no statement from the club about anything. Can we just ignore it as gossip and untrue claimes, and is it anything to use energy on at all.
No money is spend on new players in front of this season, nothing spent last season either, despite a good group of players sold and more moves out likely to happen.

There are several outlets having stories on the matter. When reading through, you start to wonder why this has leaked to the media and why anyone would do that at this point, when they almost never speak to anyone about anything.
We also see different outlets and spokesemen getting inside information on transfers, being out there weeks before it is going to happen, but it does. Why are everything leaking like a strainer.
The signing of Conor Chaplin hit the net almost three weeks before it finally happened. The move for Danny Ings also got to us early, but so far no one has in real completed a reason for him not signing, but strong rumours are that he failed his medical.
Leicester has made changes in their administrative management in recent months. The only person communicating with the public is newly appointed first team manager, Russell Martin. With so much happening at the club, it’s unusual not to provide fans with insights beyond just football.
The fact that information coming through other channels and not from the official source, makes it all look like desperation rather than a planned choice of action. This potential club sale also interfere with other matters, placing uncertainty among fans, players and staff, as it will affect you in some way or another.
So far, Khun Top or any club official hasn’t commented on a possible sale. Russell Martin was asked about it, but he can’t answer. Journalists and anyone with questions should ask those who can provide answers. If that source is not available, please stop asking random people in buildings, rooms, or at traffic lights, as you won’t get a proper answer.
