Steve Cooper does not get the questions we need answers to, as journalists and inside club reporters tend to miss the crucial.
We do believe that Steve Cooper is seeking to get a squad of players that have enough qualities to be able to compete in Premier League, and the sort of level needed might not be in place as well as he had hoped for at this time.
You see the need of three goalkeepers, and having seen Sam Johnstone from Crystal Palace linked, makes it obvious that he is not certain to have the quality needed at this level. Daniel Iversen, Danny Ward and Jakub Stolarczyk are all in there alongside certain first choice Mads Hermansen, with Stolarczyk out injured, Steve Cooper will probably settle with the three he has available at this point and include them among his 25 squad members.
Goalkeepers: Hermansen, Ward, Iversen
In the defensive area, Cooper looks to have four players to call on for full back duties. James Justin and Victor Kristiansen preferred choices lately, also having Riccardo Pereira and Luke Thomas as options. Central defenders are Ben Nelson, Caleb Okoli, Jannik Vestergaard, Conor Coady and Wout Faes. Ben Nelson *, will not be part of the 25, as he is under the age of 21 and homegrown. We could see one more player being added in defensive positions.
Defenders: Pereira, Justin, Thomas, Kristiansen, Okoli, Vestergaard, Coady, Faes, Nelson *
The midfield area do have Hamza Choudhury, Harry Winks, Wilfred Ndidi, Boubakari Soumare, Bobby De Cordova-Reid, Facundo Bounanotte as part of a 25 men squad, also able to call on, Will Alves *,
Brandon Cover *, Arjan Raikhy and Sammy Braybrooke *.
Midfielders: De Cordova-Reid, Ndidi, Winks, Bounanotte, Soumare, Raikhy, Choudhury, Alves *, Cover *, Braybrooke *
Steve Cooper needs possibly to add another midfielder with solidity, as we do believe one more signing will come in. Also seeing a potential move for Boubakari Soumare, as he looks again to have hit a hurdle. This could open up for one more midfielder with a proven PL record.
Up front and in the wide attacking areas, there are still doubts about depth and quality, listening to the recent romours, Wilfred Zaha could be one addition, but there are places for more.
Forward: Mavididi, McAteer, Vardy, Cannon, Daka, Fatawu
So at this point Leicester have a number of issuess to work out, and still plenty of room for new signings.
