Foxes A to Z; Brian Alderson

A small but stocky utility forward discovered by Coventry in Scottish junior football, Brian gained one Under 23 cap while playing in successful tandem with Colin Stein at Highfield Road, and cost City a six-figure transfer fee.

In two seasons as a Filbert Street regular, however, he failed to reproduce his previously prolific scoring form, and looked uncomfartable when layed wide on the right.

He eventually faded from the scene during the disastrous 1977/78 relegation season, joining a nine-man-transfer and loan exodus in the transatlantic NASL, where he settled for four summer seasons.
