Marti Cifuentes is the new Leicester City manager. No real surprise as this has been talked up at news channels we can trust.
We all had a feeling it would happen before the club yetted off to their pre-season camp in Austria. This is now clearly done.
We have a thorough knowledge of him as a coach. Also have good relations with players who have been in his camp in the past. This is very exciting.
Marti joins on a three-year contract. Xavi Calm, will also be coming in as his assistant. Xavi also worked alongside Marti in his previous role at Queens Park Rangers.

He arrives with a good track record in taking clubs from one shelf to another. He did this at Queens Park Rangers, where he took over in October 2023, guiding the London side from the Championship relegation zone to an 18th-placed with five wins in the final eight games of his first season and improving on that again last term.
Prior to moving to England, Marti Cifuentes enjoyed success with Hammarby IF in Sweden, leading them to a Swedish Cup final and European qualification. He promoted Sandefjord Fotball in Norway, where he has been credited for transforming the club’s style and performance.
This is a major move for Marti Cifuentes. Will be exciting to follow his steps. Hopefully a good and special selection for both club and manager.
