Flat Tire, Marti Out Concern, Transfer Funds and Special Leicester Acid Test

The hot topic in front of the game on Saturday vs. QPR away at Loftus Road, was the staff payment issues before Christmas. Turning on the tv to watch the game, Leicester were 1-0 down after two minutes. This looks heavily a tactical wrong decision making. Or players not really following orders from the bench.

The team was exactly the same as against Ipswich, which was full of great positives. So you need to balance out the situation and understand this in a broader perspective.

This is typical when you are in transition. You also have young players who are not performing consistently. Their performance fluctuates greatly. The critisism must be directed towards the experienced players. Examples include Jannik Vestergaard, Ricardo Pereira, Jordan Ayew, and Bobby De Cordova-Reid.

Stephy Mavididi is also among those who must take much responsibility. Sadly, he is not a player who can be trusted when you are on the wrong foot from start. Abdul Fatawu is another name as well as Jordan James, both taken totally out and vanishing from the game. This is a major concern, but hopefully this result will see a wake up call.

Leicester looked unorganized and far from prepared for the first 10 minutes of in this game. This is not the time to play out from the back and not have a proper defensive line. Just put 10 men behind the ball early on. That would have stopped this from happening. Leicester probably had another approach. However, the plan was not prepared as well as it should have been.

You need to look at the total picture when judging Marti Cifuentes. Not just base your analysis on this Loftus Road accident. Marti should be given January and a transfer window to really show his worth. We also need to address the fact that Jeremy Monga is a player that Leicester needs to trust. Please stop talking him, down because he is young. His attributes and skills are crucial. He demonstrated this by coming on and putting in a good shift. Leicester managed a 1-0 win in the last 45 minutes.

Certain fans go for drastic changes and like to find scapegoats. The team has been rotated almost 100%. This is not the way forward. It is a result of too many players being equal in standard. They also struggle to be consistent and understand their roles in the team.

You need to address talent. Eliminate unproductive elements. Ensure you trust players who are trying their best. The major shock yesterday was the performance of Jordan James. He was far from standard. QPR cleverly took him out by most certainly doing their homework with an overcrowded midfield.

This is not a manager issue, not at this time. He trusted a group of players that really had a flat tire yesterday. The acid test we will see is what type of backing Marti will get in January.

The recent happenings regarding payment issues to staff. Changes in the hierarcy and King Power struggles, will affect the club short and long term.

All of it looks as a major problem and often a signal on the total situation. However, focusing only on the result at QPR is not wise. It should not serve as the basis for change.

What happened at Loftus Road cannot happen again. For the time being, let Marti sort this out. Sacking him would possibly make the situation even worse.
